I bet they provide a private option at some point, especially as more people use the service and start to build accounts.

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/03/twitpayme-twitter-payments-in-140.html

This sounds like a fantastic concept. Will people want to be public about their payment transactions to each other, shared over their Twitter stream? Other than it sounds like a very cool application. I like the idea of Amazon integration too. Thank you for covering this!

Re: ReTweet This: Corvida, SxSW, & BlogWorld

I hope you make it Corvida! This is something that has been on my mind lately and I’ve been trying to figure out how to deal with the issues you mentioned. I recently began to friend people on Facebook who have simply asked (those who would fit into your 3rd category) and only started doing so after I spent at least an hour revamping my security settings. Not only do you have to pay attention to your personal lists, but each application that you use has it’s own triage of settings as well.

I think the only partial solution to this right now is to create a professional "Page." What's the difference between a Page and a Group? I'm not sure. I doubt most people know either. Unfortunately news and updates from any Groups or Pages you follow require you to go to that Group or Page to view updates. That seems like a major fail as well (even Yahoo Groups can do better than that). It’s basically a half-baked attempt at more focused updates, but I don’t think it solves the major problem of providing Personal vs. Professional aspects of a person (which IS important).

Thank you for covering this!

Re: 3D-Me Please

Ah, well... that wasn't quite what I had in mind but, I can see that now... ;)

Re: Baby Boomers, Car Insurance, Geeks & Gamers

Oh my. Plus, you can really get down and dirty with customizing your site and making it your own. If that doesn't sound like something you would enjoy, you can find plenty of people to help you out - the WordPress community is huge. It's a powerful, extendable platform for those that want more control over their site.

Blogger's OK, I suppose - it is easy, but there's just so much more you can do with WordPress.

Re: Are You Blogging or Journaling?

This is a very interesting topic that I've seen discussed online quite a bit lately. You definitely captured the distinctions as well as made several good points. Most people forget when they make recommendations it shouldn't necessarily be about what they need, but about the needs of the person asking. As a side note (and somewhat unrelated), I wonder why you think WordPress is the best? ;) I know that seems to be a hot topic of debate on occasion, but I've used both now in the last few weeks and I don't understand what the big deal is about WordPress. Blogger seems to be able to do a lot of the same things (and makes it easier) so I can't help but wonder what I'm missing. I feel like asking for directions in a new city that has a great reputation. What am I missing?

Re: Tweeple Twak (The Twitter App I’ve Been Dying To Show You)

Sounds excellent! Many people I subscribe to on FF don't subscribe back, and my comments feel like they are just blowing in the wind. On Twitter, people converse more with me and it's much more of a, well, conversation. Also, I wish FF would let me know when people DO comment on my feed. If you log in regularly, you aren't notified, and it isn't always easy to see.

Re: I Did A Bad, Bad Thing

Oh come on now. If you've just written a very extensive article in Microsoft Word, but you lose it because the application crashed just as you were working on your final draft - do you thank Microsoft for giving you the opportunity to practice your writing skills? If this happened over and over again, wouldn't you look for a more reliable writing tool?
