I'll have to tell her. She keeps saying she rarely finds another Lori, due to the fact that the name dropped drastically in popularity after she was born.

Thanks for the compliment :-)

Re: Kid-friendly, mommy-approved

Thanks and you're welcome :-)

Re: Want s'more bunnies?

Are your marshmallows vegan? I have a thing for sweet potatoes, which I don't like raw. They also seem to digest better for me when cooked.

So, you've been checking out her cookie dough, too? You're really gonna love this one.

Re: This cookie's dolled up in dough

Thanks. I figured since it had chocolate, it would be right up your alley. Gotta love anything chocolate :-)

Re: This cookie's dolled up in dough

You got me involved in mofo, so my mofo memories had to include you. Thanks for inspiring me ... and for posting the cookie dough. Yum!

Glad to hear Skylar was happy about her shout out. Jacob enjoys that stuff, too. In the beginning of this blog, I used to reserve Fridays for him. The posts were usually his idea, and he sometimes took the pics, too.

Re: This cookie's dolled up in dough

So sorry to hear about your failed attempts. I can give a you a few pointers that might help.

Let me see; the first one would be to make adjustments as you go. If your Twinkies or cupcakes are usually too wet, try adding the wet ingredients in smaller amounts (as for the sweeteners, I start with the date paste and then only add the agave if I think it still needs it). Also, use some nut pulp leftover from making nut milk as half of the called for nut "flour." You can also add more nut "flour," if your dough is already too wet.

Also, I tend to make my raw whipped icing in my Blendtec to make it totally smooth. Then, I also make it is advance, so it has time to chill and thicken in my fridge (this usually takes 24 hours). Mine is runny to start, too. The coconut butter and lecithin help with the thickening process.

By the way, maybe you just need to start with something simpler and work your way up. This cookie dough is so easy. You should try it. Don't give up. You can do it :-)

Re: This cookie's dolled up in dough

It isn't vintage, but it was made to look like it. I think I got it as an anniversary edition or something. I love the old-fashioned stuff.

You're welcome for the heads up. Although I'd love to win myself, I wish you luck, too!

Re: This cookie's dolled up in dough

The dough is the tastiest part of cookie making, so this stuff is worth skipping the "baking" step. You don't miss it at all. I have a feeling you'll have some raw cookie dough on your site soon.

Re: Breaking the mold

It's so nice to read your comment. I put these recipes and ideas out there to inspire others. I actually posted what I made for Thanksgiving the past two years and probably will do a flashback post closer to the event. Can't wait to hear what you end up making.

Re: Give Away Alert: Zazubean Chocolate Bars Up For Grabs!

I can't do all those things, as I don't have a Facebook account, nor Twitter, and I am not posting today. But, I've had you on my blog list for a week or two now. I can also tell you about my favorite chocolate combos, although I can't pick just one.

Everything is better covered in chocolate. Does chocolate with more chocolate count? You know, chocolate-covered cacao nibs with cocoa powder on top. Oh yeah, don't forget the coarse sea salt. Now that's good stuff.

On a healthier note, I also love chocolate with greens. It is my favorite ingredient to add to green smoothies.

Re: Breaking the mold

It's a good one. I've been eating them for years, but I still love 'em.

I guess I'm just really in tune to what my baby likes and doesn't like. She is definitely not herself when I eat the wrong things.

Thanks. I ate them every week during the colder weather one year. They make an excellent vehicle for the icing. Sometimes I use the icing from the cupcakes, but most of the time, I just mix up some nut butter with vanilla, sea salt and agave.

Re: Life after Mofo

It was fun. The color works well on you.

I also am a big fan of the tart. That's why I still have to be careful with what I consume. Certain foods actually bother my baby's tummy even though it passes through me first. Also, I've found that eating a lot of greens (like a cow eats grass), nuts and oats helps increase my supply.

Here's a funny story: when I was pumping with Jacob, I freaked out when my milk came out green. I later realized it was due to the pistachios I had eaten.

Re: Life after Mofo

I mentioned winning them on my site today. I almost posted one of your pics, too, but I didn't know if you allow that or not. In the end, I thought it was better to encourage my readers to follow my links to your site, so they could see more of your photography. You are very talented, my dear :-)

Re: Life after Mofo

Tabitha actually grew to love her costume, even posing for more photos in the end. That was just an early pic.

I can't take the credit for the Anne Geddes idea. I think Lori came up with that.

Hope you had a happy Halloween.
