Makes sense to me - he was probably sitting on one of those low side walls, lost his balance, and fell over the back. I frequently leaned against them but you'd have to be an idiot to actually sit on top.

Not sure that's a requirement. Do you offer people you give a buck to housing? As long as he gave him access to the tools needed to do the stuff he was teaching him, I think that's helpful.

They should really make te Guggenheim public. That building is too amazing to be restricted to those who can afford it. I'm lucky, especially as a Frank Lloyd Wright fanatic (been to over 30 of his buildings and own 52 books about him and his work) to have been able to do that a few times - everyone should be able to experience that amazing space and the works contained therein. Wish I had te kind of money to give them an endowment and make that a stipulation.

I live in Bushwick - we've got both kinds of KFC's and everything from hole in the wall Hispanic joints to high-end craft brew bars within a short walk from my apartment next to Enrico Fermi Middle School. Don't see a problem with any of the above and I've been to places all up and down that scale. The sad thing is when that kind of diversity doesn't exist - regardless of which end of the spectrum a neighborhood is on.

Strongly in favor of this. The nationwide minimum wage should be raised and also pegged according to the cost of living within each congressional district or some similar allotment so people aren't getting paid the same amount in DC or MD as much less expensive WV or ND for instance.

Bingo. That was something my suburban Republican dad even drilled into my head when I was learning to drive. If he gets it, why can't a bunch of far more liberal city-dwellers get it (and yes, I know there are plenty of Republicans here, but you haven't met my dad LOL).

Thank God there's a decent disqus module for Drupal at least. ;-)

I fell in love with the Eastern Market location when I lived down there. Never found anything remotely as good in NYC (Stumptown's best day only equals an average day at Peregrine). Closest I found here it turned out the barista used to work at Peregrine. ROFL. You guys have a real treasure down there. ;-)
