Huzzah! Success itself, and how we currently define it, is the myth. Every day is a failure in the sense that we're one step closer to dying. I suspect there'd be less pain in the world if we celebrated failure more and success less.

I applaud the grace, wisdom, and courage it took to think, write, and share this book.

Student loans are the new indentured servitude. Why borrow money to be a slave? Better to learn how to live your life with as LITTLE money as possible. Only then will your life have the space and time to become what you need in order to be fulfilled. Ignore the labels and create the life YOU imagine.

Congrats on a FIRST-RATE Review, Gwen! I appreciate how you break down the point of the book, uncover some biases, and share how it made you feel. Now I can stand by the water cooler with confidence when this book comes up.

Four thoughts: (1) the book cover is one of the better ones I've seen; (2) do you seriously want to own the hardback version of a book that champions war as a creative act; (3) it seems to me that the premise is not proved - correlation is not causation; and (4) there are real differences with serious implications between mental illness, dysthymia, depression, and bi-polar disorder (see this post in American Psychology Today http://www.psychologytoday....

At any rate (pardon the pun), keep doing great things!

I unsubscribed to my large personal library. I read 90-100 books a year. Recently, I gave almost every book I owned (over 500) to the local Salvation Army. I'm MUCH happier, and the ideas contained in those books are now free to help someone else.
