Well, speaking as someone who had legitimate concerns about Lakeland, but tried to silence the thing in me that didn't feel right (much like Dutch did), I find this to be a very thoughtful and sincere piece that is full of a lot of truth. While Lakeland was going full steam, one thing that kept pushing me towards it were some of the harsh critics that had such a bad spirit. Their hollow criticism made me want to defend Lakeland even though I had some legitimate concerns. What we desperately needed was humble, fatherly wisdom and correction like what Dutch has displayed here. I so hope those of us that love revival can come to a place of humility where we can honestly and humbly discuss the things of the Lord and our concerns with one another all the while knowing that we have no desire to tear down one another or silence what God is doing. I pray that our discernment AND our passion to see God move will grow to new levels. I pray any disappointment we may have in men right now may only drive us deeper in our pursuit of the only One who will never fail or disappoint.

I agree the enemy counterfeits, but the new approach in some circles seems to be that everything evil or pagan is just a counterfeit of the good and therefore should be tweaked so that it is good and then embraced. I believe this is a slippery slope and quite dangerous. We can acknowledge on a high level that he is a counterfeiter without trying to apply that to everything individual where we then basically assume that we are missing something if we don't embrace the "good" side of something counterfeited. Why not just engage God totally (and see where that leads) rather than trying to "redeem" the New Age?

I have to say, this does seem very concerning. Why do we need to work something up rather than have something pure from God come down? We do we seem to have the need to take practices from other pagan religions and "Christianize" them?

This is what has me completely baffled. The gushing support for Obama seems to indicate that we either hold race or charisma above righteousness. His radical support for the abortion issue as well as the homosexual issue clearly put him at odds with any believer regardless of war or economic issues. I just don't understand how the church so easily goes along with the world...

The time is so serious. My heart has been so sober ever since the beginning of this year that a storm is coming on the nation and that the storm is going to be dark and is going to stay. The pillar of file though is found at night. I pray we are ready for what God wants to do and that we know our hour of visitation.
