And I agree - he's got a bright future in the space business.

Re: betaworks

Ads like that are some of the most effective CTR generators AND surprisingly LP converters on a CPA basis. The fact that they should be optimizing the LP based on what the user click's on is fairly obvious but I guess that less then 5% of all LP's are targeted/optimized in some fashion. Seems so obvious but so few folks have figured this out - even folks who know what they are doing don't yet take this step.

Re: Wesabe Gets Some Link Love

That's me!

Re: Wesabe Gets Some Link Love

Tried wesabe earlier this year and found it wanting because if you're bank isn't in the in-crowd your stuck having to use plugins and hacks for importing your data. In the age of mashups and api's I much prefer Mint's solution. Yes Mint is using login's and scraping data ala Yahoo Money circa 2000, but as a user the point of these apps is that they automate and reduce my workload - not increase it.

On a personal note - interesting to see how bets are being placed amongst friends - David Cancel's on Geezeo's board and McClure's an investor/advisor to Mint. I just need an insider at Wesabe to complete the circle.

Re: Facebook and The Privacy Backlash

@Fred - Thank goodness someone else is a fan of Beacon. In the end, Beacon is going to a huge hit and likely be the key to monetizing FB effectively. I just think the data they'll be feeding the news feed from third party sites will be much more interesting then seeing if you got poked yet again.

I grokked about it on my blog - http://www.sawickipedia.com/blog/2007/11/30/fac...
