If Obama dies, is Biden fit - A: Yes
Q. if McCain dis, is Palin fit. - A: No.
I don`t doubt the new Pres will be surrounded by wise knowledgable advisors , but whereas I know Sen.Biden has in him to understand, grasp , make the decisions however unpleasant for him, I somehow doubt very much Palin has the ability, wisdom, humility to face the challenge.
When McCain chose her, he gave himself the Kiss of Death.

Re: Are John McCain And Sarah Palin At Odds Over Campaign Strategy?

If our next president is-hopefully- Sen. Obama , the 5th November newspaers should run articles titled : The Year the Republican chickens came to roost.
2008 saw the worst-ever ticket the GOP offred to Joe public.
Choosing a white- again ???? Vietnam hero again ??? OLD- again ??? senaqtor of 20-somethimng years standing with an aknowledged joe-six packs- hockey mum- you`re kidding !, barely learnt in international politics -what ! unmercifully aware of what are a Veep responsabilities , but dumb enough to pander to the worst instints of a mob, bringing populism to heights our country had mercifully been protected for decades, marked by poor ethics as a Governor of State, who is unable to utter a decent intelligible sentence when facing a normal journalist-mark that I did not write an astute journalist, simply able to the barest of sentences to fawning voice-speakers as Hannity who got his diploma from Goebbels Uni.. BUT THAT IS NOT ALL; again and again the GOP has turned his back to intelligent minorities, calle them blacks cqll them mormons- the GOP has believed the sirens of talk radio hosts who are self-appointed themselves as the Chosen Ones whio have abused the decent Republican voters...and guess what the chicken have come to roost.
When you forger that the USA are multi-racial, multi-cultural-multi-fath-based, when you think you gain by mention race and religious creed rather than a decent political program, when your behaviour errs on the borders of thetrical antics as suspending one`s campaign because of money worries for God sake, but cant do during WW2 or Vietnam, when you chose to right an old wrong, by writing a new wrong against a community i.e. the Mormons who to my knowledge are still americans, still pay taxes, go to school and enlist or Musllims or blacks because - OMG they are black so forever to remain 3/5 citizens.
They chose populism, they chose age and past history, versus change, hope, brains and most of all they chose entitlment over maths as in economy.
If and when the GOP wants tio win again, it got to do like Tony Blair did in `97. propose A NEW CONTRACT, A NEW LABOUR, A NEW GOP WITH FRESH FACES , FRESH IDEAS and get rid of the past and all the scum of true racist hard-core like hannity. That certainly told and still tells a lot about the human heart vagaries for kids. What is the result... the french do not lose precious time bothering who cuckholded whom. The main recent problem was not that madame sarkozy had been unfaithful, but that her husband had acrried his heart on his sleeve in 2005. That he promptly remarried was good. Carla is lovely, and clearly monsieur president is back on tracks. Love stories are distractful which is wrong, as long a sthe politicina cares for his country, who cares who he is bedding.
The US would do the US a world of good to learn not to bother about politicians sex lives. So what he has a mistress and is probably a cad, methinks it is elizabeth problem not ours.
besides as french history good louis XVI was ever so faithful that he lost his head, good ole HENRY THE 4TH had more mistresses than the year has days and if he was to run tomorrow the french would elect him as he is still the most popular king ever this benighted land ever had.
the morality is do not mix sexual prowess and polical savviness.
hitler was prude, that did not prevent him from being a very bad guy
meditate on that

Re: Obama Campaign Denies Michelle Obama Used “Whitey” Word: Sets Up Website To Battle Internet Smears

It should be mentionned that larry johnson is a rabid clinton fan abd is supporting the vague hope that something nasty will arise before denver for hillary to get the covet nominee title
alll is fair in war as they say and HRC by suspending only her campaign allows this guy to carry on his personal vendetta

Re: Obama Meeting With Clinton Right Now: BREAKING NEWS (UPDATED)

I am getting seriously tired of this spiteful game
here we have 2 great people who have made our country proud
we have the first AA nominee, we have the first serious female contender and quite possibly the first really electable female Veep, Ferraro NEVER for all her acco'plishments was a real player.
I must say I was against Clinton as I dont believe in family tickets the Kennedys who gave so much and fot whom we all pray regarding Teddy and alas, the Bushs to mention the latest and most nightmarish instalmemt. I did not voted HRC because I wanted more choice that is all.
Obama cant win, this is very simple maths without Hillary
and she cant without his voters
we can see that as a battle
we can see that as a perfect match
tell me what is wrong in having HRC on Obama ticket
I did not see wrong in hoping ion the very early days of the campaign in dreaming him as her Veep
I stand by my dreams
She was fit to be a pres and she is certainlty fit to be a Veep
and he was fit for both
they are politicinas for heavensake they are no kids and bless them they are not GWB
I know some people and some stupid journal;ists are concerned by WJC
I only saw the legitimate concerns of a spouse for his mate
the goings can get very tough in politics
and it says a lot that he went out of his way to fight for her in their relationship
every man/woman can be a fool in his/her life when it comes to Bimbo/boytoy Explosion
but his fight for her on her behalf , his very humiliating behaviours so out of the man we voted for say his love and his anguish for her
he had to do it even he he had to play dirty
and yes when he will campaign on behalf of the dream ticket you bet we shall see WJC rise to unstoppable heights
WJC was bad because he was cast in a divisive role, not one of his making but the primary making
WJC is good is strong is formidable when he stands for what he believes i.e.Unity
it was not his best role yet it was his redeeming role
and yes HRC is fit for a Veep
and yes while voting for Barack, I carried on dreaming on the dream ticket
yes it is right BHO went to see her at her request and when and where she wanted
does not shock me
what shocks me is all those people who say what me a BHO voter thinks
There is no victory when you are not sharing it
theer is no defeat when your team wins
I know and I am a woman who voted Carter , who was a Reagan democrat, who did not vote Mondale and while voting Clinton, cringed at Monica. like many people I am a voter of many colors
my country and my fellow democrats made me proud on tuesday
I was proud of Brack and yes I loved Hillary speech, because they are both siodes of the same coin
one who sees what we can achiave as the great nation we are and one who has the skills the awesome skills it will take to get to cross Jordan
Some voters and some women carry a grudge against BHO because the battle was sexist, you bet it was , and darn racist and darn misogynistic and misandristic too. I am appalled to put it mldly, I am sulking about the numerous rants on both sides but no birth is easy
it is a cathartic moment
our country was at a cross road
either we carry on with the same crappitudes of the Republican party and we all know what that party has in store for science, education, social advancment , choice, gender and lifetsyle and even religion- i am a christian whose faith has been highjacked by the Religious Right
or we are the democrats and the democrats this year have given to our country the first female et AA winning ticket
now it is up to us either to make our forafathers and our foremothers proud or not
you bet I among so many BHO voters want HRC on the democrat ticket
not because of her voters but because her and her voters are our brothers and sisters and because we all share the same ideals
so please stop wondering if she if he
it will be both
end of the endless senseless game
united we stand

Re: Friday Sen. That is one answer, another one is the fact thatmany are so relieaved not to be facing an "inevitable" choice, poor Hillary started running as the only one option on the menu, that did not help her, independant people do not like 1 item list choice. So some were are mischievious to wish to deny the goden prize to the supposedly juggernaut chosen one, then she was Hillary, hillary who? CLINTON, YOU KNOW his WIFE.
tHTA IS WHAT GOT US STARTED TOO.
For quite a few women, nowdays, we have earned legit our own successes not relying on being mrs so and so wife. We are professionals by our very own standings, and select as a role modele a woman who has been shamed by the vile behaviour of her man is no role modele at all. She got the help of the DEms TO GET ELECTED IN 2000, because of what, he had betrayed her; now that sleazy
Hillary got cheated twice, when he had that intern fling, and when he pretended to her she wou.ld have it easy when it is not easy for anyone. Angela mERKEL, tHATCHER, FRENCH ALLIOT MARIE DID NOT GET THERE BECAUSE THERE WERE PRETTY ,
THEY HAD TO FIGHT THEIR OWN BATTLES, hILLARY LOST SOME OF HER SISTERS VOICES WHEN WE REALIZED SHE WANTED TO HAVE A FEMININE CAKE AND EAT IT TOO LIKE THE BOYS. that was coming it too strong for women who fought their battles on their own 2 feet, without Bill behind to cry on his shoulders.

Re: Bush’s Speech at Knesset an ‘Act of Lunacy’

It may be interesting to see if Bush comments whether aimed at Democrats during a birthday party where he was just a guest whether approving/disapproving the dismantling of Serbia, in fact any comment at all are considered relevant by the international community. I shall not discuss wheter 70% ogf americans in the US ggive them any value. Bush for all his good or bad deeds, has entered the sunset zone. Every president gets to that zone. Chirac for all his very own good and bad deeds was held no more relevant when the french election started moving when the candidates became official. Much Blair credit was at his lowest ebb, when all Britain knew G Brown was going to succeed him. My comment: much ado about nothing.
The guy knows he has earned the duisrespect of half his counrtymen, teh other half despises him; the international playres are quietly discussing with the contenders so at least when one of the 3 is elected , he/she will not be a mystery man. But poor Bush has only this card to play, be outrageous, say stupid things let the media speak about them so he can prve he is still alive, still relevant.
True to form, which was a rather unintelligent vapid man who got elected in Texas because they thought his vapidness meant a diffident yet decent man , when it just meant to be ...vacant. The only smart player is Master Darth Cheney himself. Aside leading the strings of Scarecrow Bush, he tries to well salvage the republican party even if it means smiling pretty to McCAin ; will it be enough ...
so please take Bush comments for what they are just noice and windbags; already the internationaljournalists are discussing something else and not poor Bush. Evean a vacant mind has its pride, though I was surprised to know that it is located in a swing golf bag...

Re: Endurance, The Word: A Lost Story

Stamina also is a good word. Does Obama have tamina enough to run through November and win, he is a Marathon man? Aside the lanky physical aspect that Obama has, and that helps is he mentally fit for it, is his staff , are the democrats. Time will tell. What is not pretty is the picture the Democrats and the WV voters gave of America to the rest of the world. I have not seen a lot of comments on how this election is playing on the rets of the planet psyche.
We know that they have already had female leaders to the highest, Thatcher comes to mind, or actually Merckel. Hillary as a woman is an asset for America, I join here the feminists with the minus that true feminism whould be the right to chose regardless of gender too....having a slecetion of choices gender-free
When it come sto race, LBJ and MLK mean a lot more than we care to think to western Europe and a few other countries...
By signalling that we are ready to have C POWELL and C RICE as key players but perpetuating the pre-Civil War cliche of an AA unable to be deemed to be fot to become POTUS is not really the smartest thing to do these days. Bush has put us in a pit when it comes to international standing.
Stamina to win and endurance to forebear the smears that this GE is going to boast off , my God, we are all going to need stamina. The racist -ever so cAREFully silken words of Fox and their likes are going to carry on and on...
If in November, we show the world bARACK LOST NOT BECAUSE OF HIS PROGRAM BUT BECAUSE ...AHEM...YOU KNOW...HE`S BLACK. we better expect a backlash , more politically than economically with other Western powers parting away more from NATO and leaving us more starnded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Endurance is going to become our national motto for quite a few yearsas MCain will certainly not get support anywhere else. Not that they consider him to be on Bush level. Bush is a standard in himself or rather a bottomless pit but Another Rep admin IS NOT GOING TO BE CONSIDERED AS ABLE EITHER IN ECONOMY EITHER IN FOREIGN POLICY.
WV made herself heard and will wish in the years to come she could have shut up .

Re: Should Hillary & Bill Clinton Be Punished?

I certainl "DONT LIKE" the Clintons, but I am not suicidal when it comes to win the GE. If you care to reda THWP entry, Obama has certainly a problem w/some white people. Calling them "racists" will not change the problem or change them for that matter. But also what matters is the standing of the US abroad, and we are being looked very keenly. While we must and will not elect a president to please the other countries, failling to elect Obama because the issue is his color is not going to endear us abroad. Possibly O. ran too early, possibly we are unable to elect an AA , possibly some of us too many of us are not clor-blind and this election may be a dangerzone. And giving other countries this message will not hep us, we are already low since iRaq, how much more low can we get. Naturally , they dont have many AA or North African or Asian ministers not to mention PM there , but this is a pb. By taking HRC as his VEEP, he would send a reassuring white message to HRC voters and she is right on spot and give the US a fighting chance. I am not sure wheter we are ready to lect an AA but sending the message we are not ready will lower us once more, not to mention the AA population who certainly did not need to be given that type of message these days and by the Democrats BECAUSE IT WILL BE PAYBACK TIME FROM THIS NICHE OF VOTERS if the message we get from WV, kENTUCKY and the GE that an AA cant be elected as the voters dont look further than his name. The simple fact some people think he is a Muslim still and the fact he is a Muslim should not be considred if we were a religion/gender/color blind society . But we are not we are huma and we have a lot of sins. The rest of the western world also, but we have been usded to stand on the high moral stand and since IRAQ IT SEEMS WE ONLY KNOW HOW TO GET LOWER AND LOWER GROUND.
So we need the Clintons because a Black man and a White woman are indeed a message of hope to the world. hrc FOR ALL HER QUALITIES IS A DOWN TO EARTH PERSON and Obama has cle=arly seen MLK Dream.
In the Bible there is a Martha and a Mary aand Jesus loved them both.
We need active daily toiling HRC not funny not fancy but when the going gets tough, our tough lady can get going and we need the Visionary we need the one who see the new Frontier. Martha cant get across the Jordan and Mary needs things going.
This is not punishment - in fact to speak of punishment is rude and stupid. We need unity and united we stand. Besides if we know the Cheney years, at least we shall have a wise Veep and an active POTUS. wE SHALL BE WININNG ON both sides. It is time sto go together forward and Craville is indeed smart. Most of both camps have been angry at each other because of some fools, lets be smarter we are worthier than that.

Re: Hillary Clinton Savaged By Saturday Night Live: Conventional Wisdom Shift

That is when first degree strikes. When I heard it first and for quite a few days, I simply gulped listning t it. Then I realize that it was not really planned, even a Clinton would not be that gross. She clearly was reading something , making a quote and as quotes go often, making a mull of it as most of us do. Pb It was dynamite stuff, the type of quote with brackets where everyone needs to either see you bracketting into space or saying "I quote" Or better simply mentionning blue collar, low education but not the colour ; please not the color in out colorblind society. That was the killer. She said it and it will linger and fester nowon.
SNL and most pundits have jumped on it and will tear her apart. Wright is a fool clearly we all see him on the nwes only as a ranting mad man , but Hillary ever so sober HRC who has it to bite the bullet always even if it will kill her; no one takes her for a buffoon and so if she says it, she means it. And even if a few of us and I am a Obama voter believe she did not mean it at all , just wanting to underline her strength in blue collar voters she made the boohbooh of a lifetime. She committed the social solecism any candidate who plans to be elected must not do. it is going to cost her the nomination and will leave her to campaign in Obama only in colorconscious america ...racist...alas...back waters even she deserves beter , much better. Not only she lost the nomination, but if Obama is elceted in the GE, it actually cost her the Veep.
It is not savage , it is tragic. like a greek tragedy...

Re: The legacy of motherless mothers & their daughters who become mothers

How true. I realized the extent of loving my mother when on her final days; I was ready and I would have done it doing things I rationally dont believe in and praying that even if she was dozing in hospital, at least to be alive in hospital... 18ys later I miss her as miserably as the day she died. meanwhile I grew older, possibly a bit wiser anyhow more knowledgable, our son is a grown man. But planning to become a cheerful grandmother on the years to come does not make up for the loss and the longing. Not only HRC and her husband are training BHO to this fall battle , but at the same time, they are detoxifying the Dems from the Clintons. Just like about all the previous posts, I am at times appaled by Moveon positions, but then I dont gladly accept moveon help when my husband needed serious close protection. But then my husband was not having a sex scandal at the white house. That couple has treated the Dems as their own plaything, which it is not. Not only did we have to help getting Hillary elected (because she was his wife ????) but we are told as women we have to vote for her for the sake of sisterhood ??? and not for the sake of our country best interests but we are told she is entitled to it; are we a monarchy, or a nepotic country not to mention that if every scorned wife/cheated spouse of the US is entitled to become elected/POTUS those elections are not going to be needed for quite a long time.
The Dems called it on our head, when we accepted to cover up for a wrong doing individual, when we got goaded into payback/blackmail money into getting a spouse elected for teh simple reason, she was a spouse and worse when we found legitimate to have that spouse running for the general election when deep inside us , we felt humiliated by the behaviour of that couple. If we ever win this year, it will say a lot about the individual and solely his own achievement of BHO. i AM PROUD OF MY FELLOW DEMOCRATS BUT THOSE BIGWIGS OF OUR PARTY MUST BE SHOWN THE DOOR.
So to discover now that the sole use of the party for the clintons was to become their servant is not a big discovery. Clintn, we all know now that the 3am call cant ne taken by Hillary since she is fuzzy headed at 11pm !
THAT IS FOR THE FUN PART FOR THE SERIOUS ONE
obama is busy collecting endorsements and probably Carville is reading the definition of Iago for the last instalment , obama has behaved in a very decent way for a very indecent debate , we were expecting better from ABC, the world is readying itself for the 2008 version of the depression , foreign affairs are to sauy the least slightly muddled up, shall we mention our trillion iraqi deficit ,one-2-3 wars going etc etc and they spoke of ....1968 miscreants and wearing a lapel, next time could we suggest they ask Obama about Sacco and Vanzetti and his opinion about witches burning in small town Salem. . SINCE WHEN THE DEMS ARE SUPPOSED TO DEBATE ON THE LINES OF RUSH LIMBAUGH ?
so while we shall leave HRC to ponder if she is a democrat , Obama better be ready for the real world of FOX-O-REILLY-Hannity and consorts.
We are waiting to see BHO tell them off, as since when wearing a lapel has nothing to do with patriotism. Occupied France was ever so blowing with patriotism yet we all know who were the good guys at the time. It is about time we have demcrats ready to call their game and stop it. Stop pandering to bullies and lets call them for what they are not racist possibly but certainly morons
