I sucked free wi-fi left and right and paid only $40ish a month for my cell service. Plenty of free texts through Google Voice anytime I was within wi-fi, which was perfectly easy at home.

I got tired of the chase and jumped into the iPhone 5 back in November. I'm not looking back. Ya just gotta shut off notifications and learn some self-control. Just because you have the internet at your fingertips doesn't mean it needs to substitute for your brain. Dig deep and try to remember things. Chew on them. And then maybe look them up later.

I live my life by leaving my phone at home sometimes, shutting it off, ignoring it. It's pretty pleasant.

I'm glad you've found a way to do the same. I'm interested in hearing your report about this experiment after you've been at it six months to a year. :)

Re: Phish, finally

Glad you dug 'em! Don't now since I strive to find ways to integrate and streamline my todos and other action items into the other systems I use. For my purposes personally and at work 37signals offers are a bit more than I need. Awesome stuff, but just more than I require.

BTW, I think you mean Backpack in the post. There are a couple references to Backback.

Re: http://ilovecharts.tumblr.com/post/1581819559

Yes!! Time was that any company involved in international commerce gave some passing consideration to a globe as their logo. It's a solution that has become terribly challenging to address with an original perspective. These logos at least have the honesty to step back and say, "Hey, we may not be fully global yet, but give us time." All of these marks rely on a centric pattern that diminishes at the edge and then warps out to wrap the sphere in symbolic expansion.

Cato Purnell Partner's diverse group of solutions for Dubai Airport succinctly communicates a key message. Commerce, travel, and tourism have made Dubai a true crossroad for international travelers, and this world-class logo has found a unique way to express the point. Using the Islamic sacred symbol of an octagram, or eight-pointed star, the logo starts to envelope the global sphere with its spreading tile mosaic. The dissemination of a culture is no accidental message in this mark."

Re: Towels for Everyone: Separated at birth?

I never noticed that about the M&W logo, but heck in the grey tone it sure does look like Target.

I'm not riding you about the logo. :)

When I saw the update on the Star/Twitter/etc today about your company I thought, "Huh, that looks familiar." I got a letter from HardingPoorman not 10 minutes later and noticed the spin graphic in their logo as well on the envelope. Just noticed the similarity. There are several other companies with the same icon as part of their logo as well, I just didn't take the time to dig 'em all up. It's pretty noticeable when both companies are in the same city (albeit not the same industry).

Yes beer!
Upland's moving in at 49th and College for sure. They have a tasting room there that should open in October. Awesome! And Noblesville's Barley Island Brewing Company is going into the spot where the old Bake House was in Broad Ripple. I love it. I'll have four places to get fresh beer within walking distance of my home soon. Uh-oh.

Re: There are better alternatives to Evite

I think this is a great option as well.
