Aronofsky certainly doesn't know the difference between an environmentalist and a biologist. That said, so many people in Hollywood say such stupid things it's almost hard to hold it against them. Maybe he's just trying to fit in.

Dude, Jake Gylenhall doesn't look any more like Tobey McGuire than his sister looks like Katie Holmes (used to). No wonder they killed her character off, btw. I can't be responsible for your lack of knowledge here. Are you trying to suggest something?

Now my wife confuses Tobey McGuire and Topher Grace up, and was thoroughly lost when they were in the same movie, no doubt. :)

I hope this one is a little bit more bad-ass and less ridiculously superhero, more like the first than the second. Same as Die Hard IV, when they're tooooo unbelievable, it really takes you out of the movie, instead of saying "wow! what a badass!".

Is it just me, or are they so photoshopped that they're even less attractive than they'd ordinarily be? Some of them look more like drawings than photos.

Oh, yeah. A movie about 2 old people falling in love. Or maybe 3. God, I hope there's no sex scenes in this. Maybe it takes place on the internet and they're pretending to be 30 years younger?

I think the problem with Streep as a sex symbol is that her last several roles (that I've seen, at least) have all involved her being a haughty, unlikable bitch. While that's pretty much exactly what Angelina Jolie does too, at least she's a hell of a lot younger.

I just can't see Mike Myers doing "real" action or a war movie, unless it's some sort of analogue to Oddball in Kelly's Heroes or something, though I think that would be distracting.

I think Dane has done decently well in the movies I've seen him in, but I was disappointed in him as a stand up comedian. He was here recently with 2 other comedians (the warm up guys) who were a hell of a lot funnier than he was. He also went up to the stage flanked by people like he was some kind of superstar who needed bodyguards or something. Then he proceeded to bore the crap out of the audience, who'd been rolling minutes before. It was a very sharp and obvious application of the brakes...

He doesn't have the right kind of face for action or muscularity. His forte is tortured, anguished, somewhat crazy people.

Kinda looks like a wig or something. His hair seems to sit unnaturally on his head somehow.

I second the movie. We caught it in Thailand and were blown away. We didn't know anything about it, and the first 10 minutes or so is a long parkour / fighting sequence that just floored us. Good action and dialog.
