Anyway, these emails are from wordpress and the approve link is for wordpress not for disqus. So I don't see how these settings would apply...

Unfortunately since this is an iPhone application, the only way to download it is through the iPhone/iPod Touch App Store and iTunes.

If you look at the old robots.txt file all of the urls ended in /text. The reason all those disallows were in there is because they didn't want the bots to crawl the text version of the site which is there for accessibility for blind people, etc...

This has nothing to do with Obama being more open, it's simply a matter of obama's tech team being more efficient with how they handle the accessibility part of the website. You should do some research before you make a post like this, you're spreading wrong rumors.

The 1.5 update does indeed allow you to calculate your daily points. The update has been submitted to Apple and is pending their approval.

This has been added to the 1.5 update which we just uploaded to Apple. It is pending approval and should be available as soon as Apple approves it.

I totally see your point, but I am a believer in Paul Graham's "Make something people want. Don't worry too much about making money." mantra. I think that if you make an app that people actually want, you will have no problem selling it or monetizing it through ads, sponsors, or partnerships.

I just added this feature and submitted the new version to Apple. It's currently under review and should be available as soon as they approve it. (Usually a few days).

I didn't add decimals because I thought people would like the simplicity of a phone-type keyboard better.

To enter decimals you need the text-keyboard to get the period...

However, since you requested it I might add this in an update and add a settings tab to let you choose what type of keyboard you would like. Would you like this feature?

No, it does not - it simply calculates point values.

But, I am working on another app that will allow you to track the food/points you have eaten (similar to Edibles). You will also be able to save custom food items and their point value. This new app should be released in the next few weeks.

I agree, the advice I use is to share your business concept and what you are planning to do, without going into specifics about how you are going to do it (i.e. features). I think this gives you the benefit of getting feedback and suggestions regarding your idea, without the potential to have someone "steal" features or your unique solution.

I agree, I never write long emails on my iPhone. I wait till I get home to use my computer. However, the one feature that keeps me using the iPhone is the calendar. I've never seen another calendar app so well done and easy to use. I simply hate navigating the blackberry calendar, it's hard to do anything. On the iphone, its really simple and it's very well done. Also syncs with iCal which I use religiously.

Yes, I agree they're "not born in pretty good schools or towns or wherever". My point was that I would have assumed that these revolutionaries would naturally pop up at "good" universities such as Stanford/MIT, etc... From the past that's where these revolutionaries seem to have congregated...

So, just wanted to say that since your post the support has been great. I've received replies within a couple minutes of my posts and you guys have helped me move my comments over from my old blog within 10 minutes of me sending an email for help. Now I finally get to experience that amazing support everyone talked about! (btw, I sent the email from a different email than the one I'm using on disqus... so maybe that's why you didn't find it.)

I couldn't get the error fixed with the old template, so I just changed the template. It works fine with the new template.

The only problem now is the duplicate entries on the community page: http://alexkaminski.disqus.com/ (I think caused by the url rewriting), anyway to fix that?

I also heard some great things about disqus' customer service, but when I tried to get help I got no response both via the support forums and email. It's already been a couple days since my post and email to them. So while I like their product and have heard great things about their customer service, my customer service experience sucked. (I have since solved the problem by switching to another template. - just so I can use disqus.)
