Same situation here on HTC One X (4.2.2). I have the latest Search app. It simply won't run with the current version of the app.

But why are they considered for Free and Equal bio status? None of these musician bios include any information to show how they share their views. None give any position whatsoever. This band, for instance, showed strong leanings and involvement with the Democratic party in the past. Has this changed? Do they support and motivate toward a more Free and Equal election process?

Thanks for the heads up. I tend to un-follow accounts that send auto-DMs that ask me to sign up for something. But this is related to whether or not I'm actively engaged in conversation with the person. I recently followed a co-conference attendee. We had not engaged in any conversation, we just happened to be at the same event. However, as soon as I followed, I got an auto-DM asking me to sign up for her course. Her topic is of no interest; we did not have anything in common to discuss. I knew the connect was probably not going to play out productively in the long run. Disconnected.

In addition to the obvious comments I've liked below -- I believe that some of the signed artists have tired of the corporate chokehold placed on them. They're learning that they can release independent of their former labels -- and through tech distribute to mass audiences. These fan-bases already exist for them. So if the labels aren't getting new revenue from their old cash cows, they sue to get it elsewhere. Then they manufacture pop drivel for consumption by the sheeple that still follow commercial radio.

I believe I'm (almost) in total agreement. I do find, however, that when sending info to the cloud -- as it were -- for answers to work-related concerns, it can be quite beneficial. When I'm "tweeting" on behalf of the employer, it obviously makes sense to do so.

Personal endeavors, however, should be set aside while one is working. I do believe that contrary to what some of my peers may think I believe.

The girl at the end of the video says "your boss is looking for any reason to fire you". Not true in every organization. I supervise many employees. I have no reason to want to find reasons to fire them. My role is to help them be the best employees that they can be. When they work well, we all work well. When they are successful, the entire organization benefits. If I want to suggest that they are cautious on social media -- that is advise and counsel -- not reprimand or warning.

Yes, I agree that performance issues have always been an issue. And -- it appears that those not immersed are always going to mention performance first. Appearances are everything to those not engaged in the community that exists.

But I guess the real key in SL is that there are distinct and productive communities that build from whatever interest pulls them together. They seem to overlook the flaws in the tech and use the platform as a gathering ground of sorts. It's like any group of friends that always hangs out in the same dirty, failing bar/pub/club. They probably hate the food, the lighting is terrible, the music is often too loud, yet they still go back -- because that's where the friends are. They find their territorial favorite table and they lock out the bad to engage in the good that makes it work.

And... an additional note. If you contact a blogger/podcaster/internet radio service to ask for play of your material, follow up! If they write back and ask you for liners, supporting information -- or even additional tunes -- provide! Not getting back to them is a sure way to get dropped from consideration.
