I still think your widgets have great potential as far as viral marketing is concerned.

Quick question. When did you guys launched http://www.searchonmaps.com/ ? Somehow I missed it. I would like to ask you few questions about it in private if you don't mind.

Re: Real Bird Introduces New Feature: RealBird Virtual Tour

Yep, the trackback was there waiting for approval. Sorry. It is now approved. The ShareThis based posting to wordpress does not result in the same widget as the one you featured before. We use the technology from ShareThis mostly for social bookmarking and sharing and we will have to add the way to grab the corresponding widget just like you suggested, with a copy and paste. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Re: Real Bird Introduces New Feature: RealBird Virtual Tour

I think the "copy and paste" is always good alternative. I am actually going to try a post on of the featured listing on a "test blog", just to test how the process works.

Speaking of visiting your blog, I am actually subscribed to your blog so even if you don't see my face on on the MyBlobLog widget, I am still watching you lol.....

On a serious note. I have pinged your post, yet I do not see the trackback. It can be that that my trachback was flagged. Can you look in to it? Thanks.

Re: Real Bird Introduces New Feature: RealBird Virtual Tour

Vlad, Thanks for the coverage. I noticed that you visited our blog and was just about to email you :) Your points are well taken. I look into the image load speed. The source for those images are the same as the one used for the free service so they should have identical speed on both user interface (good or bad, but equal)

The main value proposition of this add-on is to create a virtual tour view of the listing information entered into RealBird and make it MLS-friendly, that is, unbranded for IDX distribution. (The UI focuses on large photo shows and neighborhood tours through Google StreetView)

All the features are left intact in the free service so the widget you mentioned with sharing options are available still for free. The ShareThis sharing on the branded virtual tour do allow posting it to your blog, and I agree that it's a turn off when it asks for your username and password, even though we, at RealBird, will never see it.

How about adding an option so that users can grab the same code from the virtual tour (copy & paste) as the one provided by the listing widget. Something like, "Grab this listing as a widget" or similar and excluding the "Post to Wordpress" feature which might be confusing in terms of privacy implication?

Thanks for the idea Vlad. Very helpful indeed, we'll implement it soon.

-- Zoltan

Re: RealBird.com- Viral Marketing Widget For Real Estate Agents

Just got back to my Linux. That whiteout is is still here, but I will be upgrading to a FF 3.0 tomorrow so maybe that will fix it. I would not worry about it too much. That or AJAX
associated with it might be at fault. Thanks for the screenshot. That's helpful.

What FF version are you using on which OS platform ?

My primary browser is FireFox 2.0.0.13 on XP SP2 and do not see this problem myself. We support FF 1.5+, IE 6+ and Safari 2+ both on XP and Mac for most of our interfaces. We'll have to look into this.

I post some screen shots myself with the next comment. Could you see whether http://realbird.typepad.com has the same problem in your browser? The top post at the time of writing this has 2 samples of similar widgets.

Thanks a lot again for finding this !

-- Zoltan

Re: RealBird.com- Viral Marketing Widget For Real Estate Agents

Oops,

I guess I can't embed the image in the comments with Disqus. I am not sure if you have ever had a chance to view the widget while browsing in Fire Fox.... Take a look at the snapshot below:
<img src="http://www.go-beyond-mls.com/realbird.png" />

It is the same on other blogs. But if you click "get & share" and then click "cancel" that whiteout goes away. I it's difficult to tell what is causing this.
