Having been abandoned by his father at age 2, Obama reached out for other father figures. Based upon his presentation at the 2007 United Church of Christ General Synod (national convention), one of Obama's current father figures is Reverend Jeremiah Wright, pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. Wright is the pastor who honored Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan with an award. And Obama went to great lengths to avoid rejecting Farrakhan during his recent debate with Hillary Rodham Clinton.

He's introduced a bill to commit a percentage of our GNP to foreign aid. Americans are the most generous people in the world, but Obama feels a need to coerce Americans to pay more tax dollars to his poor constituencies in foreign countries.

You see, Obama is a Global messiah, not just an American messiah.

Cheap shot, Norm! "solutions" means getting the federal government out of health care, with a safety net for poor citizens.

I'll leave it to NoDonkey to discuss whether a separate health care system is necessary to care properly for our military personnel here at home. I certainly see the need for field hospitals and similar facilities.

Poor Mexicans are starving because of our policy of subsidizing conversion of corn to ethanol with federal tax dollars, driving corn and food prices sky-high. May the Democrat and GOP politicians who support that policy suffer for the misery they've inflicted on poor Mexicans, even driving many of them to emigrate illegally north.

Some of my family were Christian missionaries to China decades ago. They were expelled when Mao's armies overran the country. Mao's soldiers were murdering Christian missionaries in the streets.

Ironically, the threat of a nuclear Iran is driving the Arabs towards an accommodation with Israel. Iranian hegemony is the Sunnis' worst nightmare. Israel likely will be part of the solution-- if the Arabs play ball.

You're one of the smartest commenters here , NoDonk. I think we should get the federal government out of health care ASAP, while leaving a safety net (perhaps a voucher program) in place for poor people. For physicians, it's been a pact with the devil, as HMOs and the government dictate what care patients receive, and how much physicians can be paid.

I think the public schools can be saved, but only with Giuliani-style radical reforms.

My compliments to you, sir! I'm not migrating to Hot Air.

Norm, you don't get it. Obama is on a leftist moral crusade. Obama has publicly said, "It's not a matter of policy or ideology-- it's a moral commitment." His detailed policy proposals are just window-dressing for the advent of the messiah. Obama is serious about his messianic status. He's not serious about policy or ideology.

So you're naive in pointing to his website. The United Kingdom's health care system is completely government-controlled, and delivers the worst health care in Europe. The U.K. government rations care based upon budgets and policies set by public health experts, and denies care to elderly patients it deems uneconomical. If you're over 80, the government won't pay for a hip replacement. That's because, actuarially speaking, you'll die soon. Compared to that, I suppose Obama's "health plan" is "moderate".

It nonetheless advocates for more government control of health care, not less. And that means less consumer control over their own health care, not more. With the coming revolution in health care based upon genetics, Obama's health care proposal is a prescription for bankruptcy. If his hot-shot academic economic advisers don't understand that, they're plodders.

Mandating saving for retirement? Well, isn't that already in place, and called "social security", which the payroll tax forcibly extracts from every working American?

But if anyone challenges Obama on the details of any policy, he'll deflect them with some convoluted wording that eventually begs the question. On deflection of criticism by distraction, he's Bill Clinton's best student.

It likely will take massive Israeli military intervention in Gaza to take out Hamas. There's no non-violent (democratic) process for civilians in Gaza to do so,even if they so desired.

The Egyptians had better prepare themselves for a massive refugee exodus from Gaza.

Despite his reputation for outing Monica, media surveys of Drudge suggest that he's often run stories floated by Hillary Clinton's campaign. Statistically speaking, Drudge leans slightly left in his reporting.

Drudge is more an opportunist than a conservative. He'll nail either party. Remember, he floated the rumor about McCain's alleged affair back in December.
