I have noticed that you can't contact the seller if an order is fulfilled by amazon. In such cases, you can always contact them directly - it's a bit tricky to figure out how, it's via the customer service link on the top -> the contact us tab - The direct link is - https://www.amazon.in/gp/he... - you can have them call you or chat with them over the internet, they have offered good customer support in the past when I have needed it.

There is only one problem with this - a majority of us - Indians - don't consider Hindi to be their 'mother tongue'. English and Hindi, both official languages accepted by the constitution - play a great role in facilitating communication between people who speak very different languages otherwise.

Question: are you using an open source CMS or one that was built for the solely for this? if it is an open source CMS, I'm curious to know which one.

I don't follow. Do you mean physical retail as in malls and other organised retail is doomed to fail? That is certainly not what I wrote in my post here, I wrote about e-commerce, and ecommercce only. However, if you are of this opinion about physical retail, I do agree to a certain extent, showrooming is already becoming a problem in the US. But I think there is a lot of space for all kinds of retail and retail other than ecommerce will continue to live for the next many years at-least.

I haven't really been to ABW in ages, ever since Haiko sold it to iNet, actually.

For me, it served it's purpose as a support group that helped me grow in this industry and more importantly, as a person some time ago,(I was 15 or 16 when I first joined ABW, just after the CJU forums closed) but I knew, even after the sale to iNet, that with Michael Coley in charge of things, the forum was in safe hands and will continue to be a medium of inspiration, help and a voice for many.

It is really disturbing to read now that things have gone so bad over there. i don't know of any other affiliate marketing community on the internet that has ever or ever can provide as good a platform as ABW - I know there is affiliate summit, but I've never been to one, - it's one of the disbenifits of not residing in the US, plus the affiliate summit only takes place twice a year whereas ABW has been an ongoing platform. This is disappointing news.

I still don't understand the $500 limit, RBI now mandating that the funds be repatriated within 7 days of receipt, now that all the money will be under the radar, what's the point of a cap on the value of each transaction/export?

The thing is, places owned by the government are public places, but restaurants, cafes and bars are owned by their respective owners and IMO they should be the ones to decide whether to allow or disallow smoking in their premises. the government can not have any say in what goes on in someone's private property - even if it is a for profit venue.

You're right. most of us non-hindi+non-south Indian people just don't take our own languages seriously enough.

btw, I don't get why commenter are pointing out to me things about "your hindi". Hindi isn't mine. I'm a right wing Gujarati
Mumbaikar (meaning I don't really like the hindi language so much) who also speaks marathi, hindi and english. This post was not about Hindi. but about prakrits and sanskrit and non-indic languages.

lol. I'm just angry at Ramadoss for not even allowing seperate "smoking zones" that used to exist in restaurants/cafes. The only way one can now smoke a cigaratte and eat/drink at the same time is either at home or by breaking the law. Cigarattes aren't banned, but smoking is, that's just hypocricy.

guess the reason I still smoke is because I only pay about $2 a for pack of Gudang Garams! :D

Google doesn't need people to hang around it's website any longer than they already do. the way google's advertising based business model and search application is build, and should be - because it works, is that people can find what they are looking for and get there, fast.

This is more of a personalized search feature than a "social" one. Quoting from the google blog - "The changes you make only affect your own searches".

Sure, it's a step in the right direction by google, but one can't still call it a full-fledged wikified search interface. one has to log in to their account to view the changes they have done to their own searches. To fully wikify google will be a much more complicated task, near-impossible, considering the fact that it will have to be made in a way that it can't be gamed.

See that is what I said, separate areas for smokers and rest of the world/restaurants/coffee shops etc for non-smokers already exist here. Where is the passive smoking in that? and if there is no passive smoking in such a situation (which it isn't) why the ban? to stop smokers for smoking? in that case, why not ban smoking altogether? or better yet, ban the smokers of the world!
