There are various places that have pre-made images of VMs with it already installed. Yes they may catch up, and then the developers can start getting worried, but until then, people like Loic who are already creating amazing products don't have to worry.

On the other hand it will be interesting to see what comes out of Chirp.

Re: The Seesmic Squeeze: how a company responds to market changes in Twitter’s ecosystem

At the moment, the only client they have is Tweetie. Now, the timing might be because of Chirp and they might be about to announce more, but unless they are going to create more clients for other platforms then it's not going to affect people. And even if they did create an Android app (for example) then I will it really take a toll on developers of things like Seesmic or Twidroid?

Twitter are already starting on the back foot by not having such feature-rich clients like the two I've mentioned above for other platforms.

Re: The Seesmic Squeeze: how a company responds to market changes in Twitter’s ecosystem

The thing is that twitter hasn't really moved into the market, they've just bought a pre-built solution. In my opinion it's more like them giving Tweetie the thumbs up and a seal of approval. Since I don't have an iPhone, it doesn't bother me. As long as people go down the same route as Seesmic (good call from Loic) and don't just concentrate on Twitter then they'll be fine.

Re: The Cloud is a Lie

Ok, I'll start off. Personally, I'm undecided. On one side, I like the idea of just being able to load an app onto the cloud and it just work (albeit with one or two tweaks). On the other hand, I really don't like the black box idea. I like to know what's running and to try my hand at tweaking things to get that last little bit of performance out.

I'm on Slicehost (owned by Rackspace nowadays) and I love it. I have daily and weekly backups schedules for an extra $5 a month and before I run anything new I always make sure I take a quick snapshot before I try something new... just in case. Restoring from backups takes about a minute because they just snapshot the system. Easy

Re: T-Mobile UK Launching HTC Desire March 26th

@Alex, I got my G1 on T-Mobile in December 08 and apparently I can upgrade 15th March.
