Don't underestimate the simplicity on iOS as it currently is. Stale to nerds, but easy to use to the mass public and my mom. I'm a nerd and love more buttons and tools, but no matter how long I spend learning Android I'm always lost in complexity of the top level controls and navigations of the system.

I was testing my app on the old 3G today and said to my wife, I don't know how I got by on this thing... It was so amazing when we had it, and now it feels so slow I would scream for my iPhone 4s.

Thanks Charlie, the plan is to make the iPad app universal to the current iPhone app. As for web based entry, I'm looking at options in that regard including a way to email an entry.

Thanks for the review David. I'm really pleased to hear that people are understanding the idea of this journal and making great use of it to remember their lives.

The next update to the Mac app will be available at the end of March and includes Search and global shortcut key for quick entry among other great additions. With many more coming after that.

Thank you! Don't worry, Day One is far from complete. I've got many great features and improvements planned. All of which will keep the app simple and easy to use as it currently is.

It's built with support for iOS 4.0 and above only. Sorry about that.

It looks like you have a fake set.

Also, I tested a set at the Apple store as loud as possible and my wife could not hear any leak whatsoever...

FIREWORKS! No, each has it's place and Fireworks falls short for many design needs. But it is my tool of choice. I too am longing for something better. I'm not expecting it will come from Adobe either.
