The majority of traffic on the web is from bots, not people. So imagine when the bots take over twitter (already happening - auto follow services).

Dude. Tangent. What is tweetboard??? Totally rad!

Re: Hong Kong CID

Charles... let us konw how we can assist. I'll keep skype fired up in the background just in case.

Dude. Let me say that I am honored and better for the piece you submitted. It's interesting looking back. I knew who I asked would greatly determine the final intent of this piece. I had all kinds of reactions. One person, who I love dearly, emailed me to say they didn't think they would be able to respond favorably. I asked them to respond regardless.

I am happy you responded from where you were emotionally. Would love to chat about it more.

Sean

Re: Hokusai

I think I understand.

I'm going to look at how to print this thing to look like a book on lulu or what have you. Because I remember going into one of the cooler coffee shops in town (tequilla bookworm). It was a vibrant place because it also sold books and periodicals. I remember seeing an amazing little book about the city we live in and as I leafed through it, I couldn't find a price.

I walked to the checkout counter/coffee bar and the person just shrugged. Said it wasn't one of theirs so they didn't know how much to charge for it. I have it to this day.

How neat would it be to leave it in places where people gather to read or find books? ie: Plant it in the library, bookshops, coffee shops, etc.

Re: Hokusai

Hey dude,

First, thanks for the new word. I've been using fecund for a week now since reading your first draft. Time to shake things up.

I understand your hesitance around this artifact circulating amongst the "already sold" or "elite" of the net. At the same time, what struck me so strongly about your piece was this opportunity that sharing has in this world today - where recency and access are no longer limited to who we explicitly directly speak to. I'd love to be able to track the path of this piece and see it ending up in the hands of those not expected or targeted.

Now I wish I had embedded some tracking code or that I was on a hosting platform that let me know how many people even downloaded the thing. ;)

I suppose we will have to wait and continue to fight to speak and share, hoping to impact change. And some day, in the mid-future, hopefully someone will look back on all the actions of people across the globe and write about how overcoming the disasters of the past showcases humanity's ability to weather the imminent disasters of their day.

Re: Hokusai

What a clarion and poetic intro to the ebook, Charles! I've been getting some great feedback on your article. It's easy to ask people who all agree with a topic and I was worried about that from day one. I felt it would be far more valuable to get a dissenting pov or two. I knew I could count on you for one, if not both! ;)

Re: eBook: Marketing in 20009

It took me a while to get around to this. I must say I really loved it! Simple, to the point and lovely work on the voice and tone. It's a difficult balance to show expertise and focus on social media without being trapped in the hype of it all. Congrats!

Sean

Re: Social media peeps are cool

Hey Eric,

Thanks for the link and call-out.

And keep that chin up, your blog did better than the majority I've seen Mack review and we're speaking about big brands with very large budgets generally. You guys are doing a kick ass job and it's awesome to see it pay off.

And you are right. The real power of social media is in the word "social". It's about connecting with people we value and respect. And from that we can hope to gain new friends, new insights and new connections.

Re: Twitter News Feed

Hey! And I believe people gave a standing ovation, not just applauded. The Vivaldi was quite beautifully done but I found it too familiar and a bit boring as a result. The Frehner piece, however, really moved me. I was actually picturing the story and following along with the words and I felt that it truly captured the text of Christ dying - the jealousy, anger, etc. And the ending crescendo was quite marvelous.

The Arvo Part piece was a masterful way to end the evening. It brought me to tears at one point and I found myself considering my values and commitment to said values around my connection with others. Amazing piece.

Re: SOUNDSTREAMS :: Our Events :: University Voices

I can't wait to hear this event.
