Bouchees and Creama Cafe are the best things above 4th Street in Downtown LB. But City Tacos will certainly be a good addition. Thanks for sticking with it for so long, and keep the creative menus coming.

But one could listen to and view Sevareid's commentaries on the CBS
evening news-as well as other news casts of CBS.

To the best of my memory the only time he appeared on NBC was
a few occasions on NBC's Meet the Press-after his contract expired
with CBS

Yeah, but this is an "editorial", which to me, is a POV that could be linked to, but not featured on another's site. I never saw Eric Sevareid's commmentaries broadcast on Huntley/Brinkley.

Anyhow, I'm splitting hairs and just revealed my age, so I'll shut up now. You all both do a great job for LB.

I totally agree with you Andy. Why doesn't City Hall charge a higher cost for businesses licenses for those businesses serving alcohol? In my opinion, businesses serving alcohol after 11:00 pm should be charged an additional $20,000 per year on their business license in order to pay for the increased police support. It's ridiculous that resident taxpayers pay for the police necessary for bars and entertainment districts. In most cases, we're on the ones getting trashed in the middle of the night and causing problems, no matter where it is in Long Beach.

if we don't keep order in the shore, and the terrible wealthy residents (who clearly don't deserve anything from the city in their neighborhood) decide it is no longer appropriate to live there, where will the west side get the tax revenue for all of the police and social services they currently consume more than any other part of the city?

Great. Now the bars in the richy-richy section of town that have created their own problems are getting increased police presence.

Meanwhile, the deadly gangs that have now infiltrated and own West of Pine St. (down to Broadway) run amok. Look at where the police shootings have occurred.

Let the bars pay for creating these issues, but we actually need expanded police presence and enforcement over here.

It definitely is tax dollars, and if spent wisely, can lead to significantly imporved areas over a period of time. However, the Long Beach RDA has exactly ONE qualified urban planning professional, which leads to the lack of long-term strategic vision and idiotic and expensive incremental projects like the metal screens on Pine Street.

The majority of the folks on the RDA board are just nice people who lived in Long Beach for a long time. Notably, director Craig Beck's (lack of) relevant experience was recently edited to obscure that. You can still find it.

Again, it is tax dollars (much of it from the state) and we are the ones who must demand that it is spent wisely.

Councilmember Garcia, are you willing to demand qualified appointees and more oversight? Remember how you felt about those horrid metal screens?
