This is nothing more than a traumatized individual driven to commit an unjustifiable tragic act because he couldn't cope with the reality that he is once again being sent to a foreign land to kill or be killed for NOTHING meaningful to him! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! His name could be Smith, O'Toole, Mancini, Schultz, Chin, Sanchez or Patel and this tragedy would not have had anything to do with the ethnicity of his ancestors. He was born and raised an American. An immigrant Muslim terrorist didn't kill American soldiers; a lifelong American citizen killed his fellow American soldiers. He wasn't trying to terrorize Americans; he was an American who has been terrorized to the point of insane desperation.

There is a moral and ethical and religious sickness pervading Republican politics in today's South that makes Americans living in Western, Eastern and Northern states wonder what century the politics of the South represents. In order to gain the political power they've enjoyed for decades, Republican moderates and fiscal conservatives made a pact with the devil (faux Christians, bigots and misanthropes) to achieve the numbers they needed to defeat Democrats. They made a strategic decision to manipulate and exploit the ignorance, fears and hatreds of dysfunctional and vulnerable voters in order to win elections rather than lose them by being intellectually and morally honest.

Today, those who conspired with the devil are caught between wanting to disassociate themselves with and or casting out the demons they empowered and the karmic reality that they don't have the numbers to hold on to or regain power without continuing to accept and "advocate" the immoral values, hypocrisies and corruptions that are dividing and destroying their party.

The survival of today's shrinking Republican Party has become so dependent on extremism that they have no significant power left WITH or WITHOUT the support of America's increasingly pernicious lunatic fringe.

The idiom "caught between the devil and the deep blue sea" is certainly appropriate as Republicans are facing the dilemma of choosing between two equally undesirable alternatives that both result in Republican impotence in mainstream American politics. They are suffering the consequences of their treachery.

Their irresponsible propping up of George W. Bush cost them their credibility, and the inflammatory insanities of mercenary GOP opportunists like Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity and O’Reilly are costing them their viability.

Grayson is making it PERSONAL by eliminating the facade of civility between politicians who look at their "competition" as a game without victims rather than life and death issues that destroy REAL PEOPLE'S lives. Every time President Obama has referred to one of the Republican obstructionists as "my good friend" I've wanted to puke because they are CAUSING or PERPETUATING death and the destruction of peoples lives. WHY would any moral human being find any reason for civility with someone who DELIBERATELY enables death and the destruction of people's lives? It's easier to "not be mean" by "firing" someone, even if it means "making lots of people mad" passively (not actively doing something to them) than it is to have a "confrontation" and actively injure someone.

There's nothing wrong with the logic. People fail to act all the time because passive violence isn't as hard to engage in as active violence..

In fact, one might say that if Reid "does something he doesn't want to do just because the crowd tells him to" that he's giving in to peer pressure.

he's kind of screwed if he doesn't feel removing these jerkoffs is a good idea because he ends up in an untenable situation.. But, if he is on board with the plan, then the question is just if he has the spine to act (which we established is harder to do than not act).

The reason his approval rating went down in the first place was due to the fact that he was being too bipartisan and not fighting hard enough for a strong public option. It's not hard to figure out why they've ticked up. I guarantee you it was because he's starting to act more like a progressive DEMOCRAT.
