ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! His name could be Smith, O'Toole, Mancini, Schultz, Chin, Sanchez or Patel and this tragedy would not have had anything to do with the ethnicity of his ancestors. He was born and raised an American. An immigrant Muslim terrorist didn't kill American soldiers; a lifelong American citizen killed his fellow American soldiers. He wasn't trying to terrorize Americans; he was an American who has been terrorized to the point of insane desperation.

In order to gain the political power they've enjoyed for decades, Republican moderates and fiscal conservatives made a pact with the devil (faux Christians, bigots and misanthropes) to achieve the numbers they needed to defeat Democrats. They made a strategic decision to manipulate and exploit the ignorance, fears and hatreds of dysfunctional and vulnerable voters in order to win elections rather than lose them by being intellectually and morally honest.

Today, those who conspired with the devil are caught between wanting to disassociate themselves with and or casting out the demons they empowered and the karmic reality that they don't have the numbers to hold on to or regain power without continuing to accept and "advocate" the immoral values, hypocrisies and corruptions that are dividing and destroying their party.

The survival of today's shrinking Republican Party has become so dependent on extremism that they have no significant power left WITH or WITHOUT the support of America's increasingly pernicious lunatic fringe.

The idiom "caught between the devil and the deep blue sea" is certainly appropriate as Republicans are facing the dilemma of choosing between two equally undesirable alternatives that both result in Republican impotence in mainstream American politics. They are suffering the consequences of their treachery.

Their irresponsible propping up of George W. Bush cost them their credibility, and the inflammatory insanities of mercenary GOP opportunists like Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity and O’Reilly are costing them their viability.

TRUSTING INSURANCE COMPANIES IS SUICIDAL

Should we want the health and lives of our families to be in the hands of Insurance Company Executives who receive millions/billions of dollars to make as EXORBITANT a profit as possible......or should we want our federal government to manage our health care in the same manner it has managed Medicare, Medicaid and the Veteran's Administration? And before anyone starts trashing the VA, let me remind them that quality of care has always been rated high at the VA. The problem has always been insufficient funds to provide timely care in quantity, not bad doctors/nurses.

Should we want insurance companies to CONTINUE denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions? What are they supposed to do...just suffer and die because they've had the misfortune of getting sick and don't have the money to pay $100+ per aspirin or $10,000+ for a diagnostic test or $100,000+ for surgery or treatment?

Should we want insurance companies to CONTINUE denying claims based on the fine print in contracts designed to trick people into believing they're paying for health care they won't receive?

Should we want insurance companies to CONTINUE increasing premiums at rates that force millions of families to drop coverage, to declare bankruptcy, to close business, to move their jobs overseas and to inevitably cause a recession much worse than the one we experienced in the 1930s?

IS THAT WHAT ANY AMERICAN SHOULD WANT?
