I will go back and listen to it again when I get a chance. I probably should have before I commented. Otherwise, nice work at explaining it. Odds are I jumped the gun and missed the part where you mention the TCP/IP model. Sorry about that! I tend to think in the OSI model too often I guess.

Re: TMUP 145: Using Mac and Windows together

Generally these topics from Bart are very helpful. However, while he did provide a decent overview of how the OSI layers work together, he frequently referenced them incorrectly.

There is no OSI Layer 0, for example. He also kept referencing Layer 2 incorrectly. Layer 2 handles mostly media access and framing -- not routing. Layer 3 handles the routing, via different routing protocols, usually OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), but there are several others and different implementations. I won't even get into the Layer 4 issue.

Normally I don't comment on something like this, but I feel it's important enough to bring up.

It almost sounded like he was also mixing the TCP/IP Model with the OSI 7 Layer model (1 -7, not 0-6). They are different.

For clarification and for a fun read, check out this explanation on Routergod.
http://routergod.com/ccnabootcamp/osi.html

Re: Special Announcement About the Live show

I jumped ship on them last year when they changed their business model and it affected me since I didn't run the 'Live' show. The 10% of the people that they say want to make money are probably the 10% that drew in the most listeners and downloaders -- the numbers advertisers will be looking for.

They changed my deal to 1/10th of 1 cent per download (or something miniscule, I can't remember exactly now) and I said there is no way I'm going to make my audience hear an ad that isn't even going to benefit my production costs.

I totally understand your stance VMC as a Podcsater. As a fan, I will miss hearing the live show and Maccast loop.
