The trick that worked for me, was to start the Realtek driver setup in Vista compatibility mode. Under standard Win7 mode it just terminated with a message that it wouldn't work for that OS version.

It could be that it's an issue with WPA and WPA2 (I only tried those). At ekon there was an open WLAN. I didn't get back to Hadi yet - I don't know if he tried with a secured WLAN ...

RegisterCallBack tackes just 2 params:
1: CallBackName:string - will be used as name to identify the callback function. This name needs to be unique.
2: A method reference of type method of object(EventParams: TStringList).

On the client side you can then call processAjaxEvent(event, null,"CallBackName",false, null, true); to call the newly registered server-side method.

Hrm. Actually another message one could think of is: "Delphi (even an update) is too expensive to upgrade on a regular basis."

A Delphi Prof. update is 400€ per seat. Also there is a migration effort to be done and over all training costs are necessary sometimes. Upgrading simply is too expensive for my customer that has the D7 projects out there. Upgrading roughly 20 seats, upgrading all used components (if there are upgrades for 2k9), training the developers and migrating the applications is approximately an investment of 30.000€ (20k in licences + one or two weeks of training). But then 20+ developers are busy for at least another one or two weeks just migrating the current projects. This have to be counted in additionally.

If this upgrade will make the team more efficient that an investment of this size will pay out after a year or so is questionable. Let alone the current economy problems.

I can fully understand all people not upgrading. I doubt I will buy weaver. The things that pay my bills are D7 and Prism. In this order ;-)

So the conclusion is that Delphi 7 is the Delphi version you are still using most. We are not looking for the /reasons/ though why you don't use any newer Delphi version. That might be something to be researched later.

We are not comparing Delphi Prism against C# or VB.Net here. We only want to know if there are any dev shops working on .NET projects with Delphi Prism for more than 50% of their time. Again, we are not looking for /reasons/ why one chose C# over Prism or vice versa.

The current (non representative) result is, that D2007 is used as the main dev tool by 40% of all who voted. D2009 has a rate of 20%, which is not too bad, but after one year surprisingly less. If that trend should be manifested later, then I think this would be an important message for Delphi's product management: "A release cycle of one year is too short"

I don't have an x64 os so I can't try but you can also try to make the following change:
C7 83 DC 0D 00 00 0F 00 01 00 to C7 83 DC 0D 00 00 15 00 01 00

It changes the Context flag from 65551 (CONTEXT_FULL or CONTEXT_FLOATING_POINT) to 65557 (CONTEXT_ALL)

Regarding your last question: In this case I would prefer Win 7 to be released earlier. Let's see if the Delphi community has got enough power to 'force' CG to release a hot fix for this issue.

CG will certainly say, that D2009 was released before Win7 and Win7 is not even officially released yet.
I talked to some Q&A guy of CodeGear, he checked that error on their current internal build, and the error does not seem to be reproducible anymore. So chances are that we might get an update somewhen.

One question here is certainly: what will be released earlier? Delphi next version (Weaver) or Win7?

Somewhat. The difference is, that it does not load a full VM, but runs in the context of the physical machine. Much fewer overhead that is.

I got your point, but I don't think they invented that from scratch. I guess
this is based on some 3rd party technology. XenoCode's "PostBuild" goes in
that direction.

I would say, as soon as there is a Win64 compiler (and the modified IDE, which seems to be a lot of work as well), an Instant-On build process just needs started :)
