The fact is that double dippers cost way too much and displace younger workers. That is a problem where there are so few well paying jobs. In theory you could hire 2 and 1/2 - 3 regular workers for the cost of a double dipper.

This is one stupid issue if it is to stop health care reform. The far left Democrats are being played by the Republicans like a fine tuned piano. If It stops health care reform the far left will have to deal with the consequences.

People in the middle of the political spectrum are being bullied by the far right and far left. Let then, the extremes, get their own party and leave the D's and R's to manage the country.

And the bishops are lucky little boys do not get pregnant.

"Then there's the liquor industry". If by the liquor industry you mean the bars and liquor stores in and around Gallup, you are right. They sell death by the drink or bottle. It is all about money.

This is not unique to Gallup. It is a common problem next to any dry reservation. If you have traveled the western states, Montana and South Dakota in particular, and visited off reservation towns you have seen the places. They are easy to spot.

I do not see how the "liquor industry" as you put it, can sleep at night. But they do and they finance the city politicians who control the regulatory strings.

I personally think that right wing talk show hosts prompting their audiences to be anti this or anti that are at fault for much of the violence that can be identified as political. Remember who encouraged the Oklahoma City Bomber?

Mr Boyles is not a credible news source, he is a right wing talk show host who is an entertainer.

Diane Denish will be our next governor, regardless of what Republicans say or do. Republicans in New Mexico are, as a group, a bunch of whiners who have lost touch with New Mexican voters. Their tactics come straight from the radio talk show hosts. John Dendahl may be long gone from the New Mexican political scene, but his mean spirited style of doing business is still with the Republicans.

Their base in NM has shrunk to the point that they will not elect a person to a state wide office for a long, long time.

A sad tale. A sad tale that could have been avoided if Mr. Sanchez had not decided to push Mr. Gabaldon into a corner and then Mr. Gabaldon pushing Mr. Sanchez into another corner. People who feel trapped act in unpredictable ways. Just look at the scenario's here. Mr. Gabaldon acted one way and Mr. Sanchez acted another.

But Mr. Sanchez was the person responsible for the situations. He will be looking over his shoulder for a long, long time.

By the same token, if what is written about Mr. Gabaldon is accurate, someone eventually would have killed him.

I agree with your post for the most part. The comment on courts and executive branch driving revenue generators out of the state makes me question your sincerity. Trust me, no one id driving them away.

And as for education, New Mexicans know the value more so than other states. We need the PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM. We must have it, that is the ONLY way we can educate all New Mexicans, and I do mean all.

And we New Mexicans need to keep the public educational system viable. Whatever the cost.

The breakdown of families is a big part of the problem. Children being raised by one parent or the other, but not both. Males raised without fathers tend to lean towards crime. Women make horrible choices when picking their partners and the children pay. And society asks why?

The Republicans have thrown in enough roadblocks that even Democrats are starting to doubt it. Republicans are against health insurance for the general public. Republicans are against the public educational system that educates the majority of our children. The republicans were against Social Security, the Republicans were against medicare.

THE REPUBLICANS ARE AGAINST AMERICANS AT THE LOWER SOCIO ECONOMIC LEVELS.

First, he did not change the "state constitution". And If you live in the unincorporated areas of any municipality you cannot vote. If you want to vote in city elections move to the city.
