I recently changed my theme from "blue" to "red" and I was hoping I could change the theme accordingly.

I have seen other sites such as TechCrunch with a modified pop-up, but of course they probably get more than 20 hits a day.. lol.

Re: Testing Windows Live Writer

Interesting. I use Live Writer and it only asked me once if it could create a temporary post, and it cleaned up after itself without a problem. However, I have forced a style update several other times and it didn't even ask.

It's been doing good for me so far. I will admit that what I normally do is have it save a draft on the site, so that I can add tags and SEO information before posting.

Re: What Is Social Bookmarking?

I’m not advocating putting all of your trust in a bookmarking web site. I definitely think considering what options the site has for regular export is very important. I know, for example, that del.icio.us has a full export to HTML with comments and tags.

No, my goal in this article was more to explain the social bookmarking phenomenon by showing that people are starting to see bookmarking more as a way of finding new and interesting content, and not so much for archival purposes.

Sure, being able to go back and find something you bookmarked a few months/years ago is useful, but what if you found a page that had content that really excited you, and you wanted to find more on that topic? You could go to google and search.. or, perhaps, if you bookmark the page with some relevant tags, Stumbleupon will find them for you.

By the way — how do you deal with link rot?

Re: Tell Me About StumbleUpon

Much appreciated, Corwin! I'm already seeing a positive flow of traffic to my little site. I know what you are saying about gReader -- I recently commented on a post on Robert Scoble's site, then I went to see where the comment was ultimately being recorded. I ended up on this page.

But Disqus is a young product yet -- I think there is a lot of potential for pushing these comments back to their respective blogs.. for example if the blogs allow OpenID, Disqus is already doing some work in that area.

Re: FeedFlare, Disqus and gReader

I agree -- it would be great to see an integrated inline commenting solution for Google Reader. Without writing their own commenting system a la Disqus I'm not sure if it would be feasible though. Of course, if the existing comment communities had public APIs Google could build on them and allow their users to 'choose' which one they want to use.

I'm not sure if that is the case, though. Perhaps Google is simply watching the space and is seeing who turns out to be the strongest competitor.

By the way, thanks for the comment and the visit to my blog! Glad to have you.

Re: FeedFlare, Disqus and gReader

Oh, I'm a small blog with little to no comments, so no exception there. ;)

Re: Gridjit: A Visual Twitter Portal Service

I really like the twitter name-categorized view! I added a "Disqus- friends of eng1ne" RSS feed to Google Reader, but of course the comments come in all disconnected based on the article they are on. If I've read the article already, I simply click on the embedded gReader comments link and it brings up the whole threaded list in the sub-window! That way I quickly get all the comments in context.

Re: My Journey To Joining Mixx

I think you may have talked me into it!

Re: Team Disqus T-shirts

Nice!
