I don't support death threats, but I certainly support a business failing when they don't treat people as well as they supposedly treat their animals.

They barely paid their staff, they were under multiple lawsuits and were forced out of SF to give it another go in LA. Please go read how terribly they've treated their employees.

http://www.huffingtonpost.c...

Re: San Francisco Goth parties & gay nightlife. NYC was stodgy, not very accepting of tech, and now it seems that there's been an inversion of sorts in the last ten years. The city's cleaned up quite a bit and a pleasure to be in now. I'm still in SF, though, and a strong supporter of the tech scene and art scene here.

Re: Best Bloody Marys In San Francisco

No mention of the $20 bloody mary at Waterbar, featuring two massive prawns, lavendar salt, and bacon? People do not connect to the "Integrated Services Digital Network." That's ISDN, an outdated technology from the 90's. ISDN is a copper-base technology.

Re: Aaron Swartz Case Was ‘a Good Use of Prosecutorial Discretion,’ Attorney General Says

"I wrote a letter asking about the prosecution and asking questions of prosecutorial zeal and even misconduct", Does not mean, "Cornyn said the prosecution was based on zeal and misconduct" as you write.

It means " I am asking if the following are true. Those password retrieval questions should be filled with 20+ character long randomized passwords. What I don't agree with is your reluctance to use a password manager.

You shouldn't know your passwords. You should only know a strong master password that can be used to unlock your password manager and your passwords should be as long and as complex as the remote site allows. (20+ characters, fully random.)

Why? Because you also shouldn't be typing your passwords. Most password managers will integrate with the browser and only send your passwords to the registered site. For example, if you were phished and sent a link to "twiiiitttttter.com" instead of "twitter.com", your manual approach would be to type your known password to the phishing site unless you were very, very careful about reading the URL.

If you aren't typing your passwords, and your manager only sends a password when it's absolutely, certain that you are on twitter.com, you're much safer.

Re: DNA Lounge: 11-Nov-2012 (Sun) Wherein we dry up.

I always hated that thing. You are, more accurately, Phished, when you enter your credentials into the fake twitter login screen and click submit.

You're also not logged out of Twitter when you click the link. The attacker is attempting to make you -think- you've been logged out of Twitter, which you have not been.

Re: Louis C.K. addresses ticket scalpers: ‘It’s a tremendous risk’ (Exclusive)

This is so easy to solve. That data's stored. What's to stop you from taking the image of my face, which you now have from your database and passing that to another image search to correlate my face with my social networking profile? You don't need to share pictures to mine them for demographics. Do you correlate faces visit-to-visit? Your site clams that you never store images or share them. How can we be so sure?
