The only thing I can think of is that I dropped it outside, or left it on the porch, and either someone took it or a stray dog carried it off.

Re: I lost a loaf of French bread.

I tried accusing the dog, but I can't find wrapper, crumbs or anything. I don't think such a little dog could eat a whole loaf of french bread anyway. He's only 12 lbs.

Re: I lost a loaf of French bread.

Oh now that would be serious. It's just nice to see that men still have occassion to dress up these days. How have you been?

Re: Man & dog

Thank you! There are some third party apps called Camera Bag and Toy Camera that help apply these effects to the photo. If you do get an iPhone, be sure and check out irovr.com, which is a social networking site built for iPhone/iPod Touch users.

Re: Ocarina for iPhone - amazing

Isn't it? I've been going there at least once a day, 5-6 days a week since it opened 15 years ago. I know of the others, and have been there, but this one is almost a community to me. I've taken so many photos here!

Re: Man & dog

Thanks. All done on my iPhone - took the photo, changed to a b/w camera effect in CameraBag, added the thought bubble with Comic Touch, and uploaded it.

Re: Ping.fm / Uploaded Image from Victoria

According to the vet, he is a chihuahua/toy fox terrier hybrid. That particular book's strong foundation in mindfulness and day to day practice will provide a good introduction to Buddhism as a living tradition. If you wanted to get into some (slightly) heavier theological stuff, Bhante Henepola Gunaratana's Eight Mindful Steps to Happiness is probably the best primer on the Noble Eightfold Path that I've ever read. Gunaratana's masterful Mindfulness in Plain English is also a great read. After that, maybe you could try Suzuki's Zen Mind, Beginner Mind or Phillip Kapleau's Three Pillars of Zen. And, of course, no list of Buddhist books would be complete without the Dalai Lama's Art of Happiness. Hope this helps!!!

Mark

Re: NetGrrl: Zeitgeist » Blog Archive » Thoughts on Buddhism

Thank you for your thoughts, it's very instructive. I am a complete newbie in the area of Buddhism, and the statement which was posted was an excerpt from a podcast called Bad Buddhist Radio, not my own words. If you have any favorite reading material you have found helpful for a beginner, I would appreciate it if you let me know.

Re: NetGrrl: Zeitgeist » Blog Archive » Thoughts on Buddhism

I can understand how the tone of the message could be interpreted that way. For my part, I don't feel I have any views that are superior to anyone else's. It was the aspect of living in the moment, right now, that spoke to me - for me, living in the past (or the future) is something I struggle with. Thank you for your comment!
