I'm not entirely sure where to begin, except to say that I disagree with much of this post.

You're right in one respect, though: Rahm Emmanuel is running shyt. He's the White House Chief of Staff and running shit, particularly when the President doesn't like to get bogged down in minutiae like Obama does, is what the Chief of Staff is tasked to do.

I don't think I've ever shared the fear that others had during the primaries about harm coming to Barack Obama--I've met members of the Secret Service and they are nothing but consummate professionals (who train for years for this assignment). I trust them to keep the President and the entire First Family safe.

There was, however, something that struck me about a post over at Ta-Nehisi Coates' blog today: "The worry isn't that Obama will get killed--it's that a lot of other people will get killed because these thugs can't get to Obama."

That, I think, is a whole different issue...

Amen!
