I've been wearing the RX8s (because they come in wide) for over a year and generally like them, but they're unnecessarily stiff (hike-a-bike is not great, they'd be horrible for running stairs for CX), and the tread is not grippy, but a higher durometer than i’d prefer.

These RX6s, if that gum colored sole is rubbery’er AND they came in wide... might be a downgrade that's actually an upgrade.

I made a similar mistake years ago with an apple device (time capsule), where they replaced the unit, without my knowledge or permission, so i lost all of the data on the internal drive. they could not locate my original unit, and claimed that since they elected to replace my device, i no longer had rights to the old one, or my data. I remember Jeffrey Zeldman having a harddrive / data loss issue a few years ago as well.

This isn't Rosie the Riveter... this is an anti-union poster that Westinghouse produced. Rosie the Riveter is a completely different Norman Rockwell illustration. What this image says is "we can go to work, without unionizing in the process", and Beyoncé is an idiot for not researching what the image was she was trying to emulate.

... or maybe she did, and knows all of this, and is just a dick.

in 2009 i had one client stiff me over $41,000 in pay for services that were fully rendered, putting me in debt to other freelancers who were working for me on that, and other projects. i've been waiting for years for this law of protection to pass. hopefully we won't be waiting much longer.

but is the cup itself recyclable? most paper coffee cups, though you'd think so, are in fact not recyclable due to the treatment they get to make them impermeable.

it's a step in the right direction... (i actually still have the paper prototypes for a VERY similar lid-less cup that i worked on a few years ago) ... but until someone comes up with a way to seal the paperboard that doesn't ruin the material for recycling, each and every cup still goes into a landfill.

I don't know about anyone else, but I type about 2-3x faster than the iPhone demo user in that video on my iPhone. I don't feel that this comparison between the two platforms is a reasonable one.

sure, though i don't personally like the idea of any content moving in an interface without there being any deliberate user interaction.

if you make it happen, and let it be a configurable option, send me a patch and i might include it in an update.

hey gosam,

all i got was an email from a "no-reply" address, saying to go to wherever the game was on a date and get tickets from the gowalla table (or something along those lines). no link, address, telephone number, or any specific contact information regarding the promotion. what if i had been a 15 years old user unable to claim a prize?

i actually had to ask a friend of mine at espn where Nets games are held in order to find out they took place out in new jersey. then he told me not to bother because their season had been so terrible (who could have predicted that they would have had that crazy night the day after).

also for the record. i had totally been unaware of the campaign until after i had won the tickets.

i hope this can be seen as constructive sharing of my experience. and if you guys want a hand in the future, i have been working in interactive/marketing/advertising/promotions since the 90's.

I won free tickets to that game, but wasn't able to get to NJ to attend. There also wasn't a way for me to "decline" the prize to let someone who could have taken advantage of it instead.

Dossy's site seems to be timing out after loading about 80% of the follower data now... and I feel really bad about this and hope that it wasn't my fault.

I'm writing a new bookmarklet to run against the twitter site itself now, but will only work on a page-by-page basis (of course).

I plan on posting a followup as soon as it's tested and ready.

no way! that's a first in my book. for three years i had to rely on a sprint mobile broadband account to even think about getting any work done while traveling. i'm still not sold on $180 being a good value though.

how the L has been transformed over the past few years from a painful experience to the top rated line on straphangers.org still amazes me.

when i first moved to the Morgan stop, just a few years ago, i couldn't even get my girlfriend at the time to come out to visit me, and now it's a prime example of what can be done if you get enough demand/growth in a market to warrant spending some money here and there.

i was a passionate Acela traveler about 10 years ago, working in NYC during the week and spending my weekends in Baltimore/DC. in this last decade, with the consumer cost almost doubling, i've actually traveled less instead of using an alternative (bus, drive my car, etc).

the only reason, it seems, that we need privateers to make advances is simply because they don't have to operate within any sort of democratic process to get things done. that's why we have the subway, the somewhat functional national rail system, but people who still freeze to death in the winter despite Snuggies being such a "success" in the marketplace.

I don't see that being a problem at all. unfollow shouldn't count
against any api threshold. if there are a few hundred users on their
phones via wifi at a convention, they'd all have the same public IP. no?

all the requests are being handled individually, so it shouldn't be a
huge problem. though since the burst may affect your server, I'd be
happy to update it with a 1/10th second interval. just let mr know and
I'll edit what's published.
