I only rarely use friendfeed in a direct manner. my time is too full for me to leave my productivity habit trail.

interesting story, it looks like there could be quite of influx of workers there for the next decade? or so, particularly as there is a boom in both biotech and innovative technology. this could move pretty high in my short list of places to relocate.

not that i didn't join up right away like the digital lemming that i am, but i have not quite understood the improbable elevation of friendfeed to ridiculous standards, its just another web service, sure it fills a bit of a niche and provides a method to get a handle some things a little better, but the weakest link is always going to be the people who use the service. people will at many points, fail to allow themselves to be viewed in a manner in which they do not want to be viewed therefore this conversational pruning is going to happen, especially when the medium really does go out of its way to make allowances for such functionality.

it is our duty, as enlightened individuals, to speak up when we encounter injustice and if we do not fulfill this duty how pray tell will the closed mined masses ever know that there is a better way of living life. when we fail to do so, when we neglect our duty, we not only allow friends and family to face abhorrent conditions but we do not present a manner in which to clear this blight from our society.
when i witness racism in the present, focused upon a person who i hold dear, and i do not speak up, nor only do i experience the pain of guilt but i contribute to the suffering by not helping to bear the burden.
i only can wish i had been there.
these are only words and that is all i can do, write some words.

nope i was not confusing Stern for Imus. Imus is just plain terrible, Stern is not funny and is sleazy- that was the reaction i had to techn**** at the time and still. the puppets have been just as sleazy. i dislike "comedy" which is mean spirited and makes fun of other people. that's just negative hating designed to pull someone else down, rather than lifting up the audience. if there's anything our culture needs less of, that is negativity.

i am totally with you, unfortunately there is a market for this sort of product, look at imus, stern; and verizon may indeed go through with it- however i trust that if this flaps up much more so tha it gets closer to the mainstream surface then verizon will have to think about their corporate image- thats the tricky part about coming in sidewys to the content business.

well there were obviously some voices on the other side in order for him to get the deal in the first place hwever the lobby effort is a market force which is responding,; whether or not it will be effective is another matter, "The Last Temptation of Christ" was still aired in theatres.

i think it is great that loren has a deal with verizon and that he will reach a wider audience- because then more people can determine for themselves whether or not they consider him funny or not- and if they don't then there can be a greater force that will squash him down to size.
i personally do not find him funny, nor do i think howard stern is entertaining, but there is a large segment of the population that does - so maybe there is a chance for loren to be appreciated by the same sort of people who like howard, in fact, the technigga video seems like it should be on howard's show, it fit s that whole unenlightened buffoonery perfectly..

i think that this is indeeed searchable and catalogable by Goolge or other search engines. There is a technology called OCR- optical Character Recognition that is pretty advanced and is used to convert items such as this into text files.
