Excuse me but the current head of the DNC, an Obama appointment, is a creep. Tim Kain not only opposes Marriage but also Domestic Partnerships. While he doesn't think we should be beat up and killed because we are gay that's about all. So please don't tell me that Kaine's appointment is anything other that a insult to the LesBiGay community.

Just excellent - sadly its all too true.

People are starting to realize that Obama is a coward and once that gets to be the common wisdom its all over for him. The Republicans already have his number its just a matter of time till his former supporters see the reality of him and his Presidency.

This is really a no-brainer. How could anybody think that the Health Care Insurance mofia won't use these reforms as a reason to massively up the cost of policies? That's why we have to have some form of cost containment - i.e. the public option.

We really need to get past the idea that its all Rahm's fault. Obama hired him and knew exactly who he was when he did so -

Our problem is with Obama not Rahm. Obama is the one that has turned his back on the progressives, the lesbians, the gays and all those folks that really wanted to see health care and banking reform. Rahm is a tool that's all - our anger needs to be directed where it should go and that's at Obama.

Obama isn't our friend - he used us and now has decide to make fools of us. Until we return the favor he doesn't have to show us any respect. Our energy now needs to be focused on destroying the Obama/Big Pharma/Insurance Company bill. We kill this bill and Obama and the rest of the Democratic Power structure will have a new found respect for the party's progressive base.

He's reactive instead of proactive. He should have begun the process by carpet bombing the Insurance Companies for a few months to soften them up then lay out his demands. Instead he's shown himself to be coward.

I went to the event and my guess is that about 60% - 70% of those there supported reform with most of that number supporting single payer or at least a public option. Sad but typical that you chose a poster from the minority as your only image.

Its all quite irrelevant anyway - we have already been sold out. Obama is a coward and Baucus, Grassley & Bingaman are letting the insurance companies write the bill as I write this. All we can do now is kill the mess before it makes things worse.

As a Democrat I am deeply disappointed that Senator Bingaman has chosen to be involved with the "Gang of 6". If you look at the members of this crew you will see that both Baucus and Conrad (the two other Democrats) have taken large amounts of money from the Health Industry and are nothing more than paid employees of the Insurance Companies. If you look at the Republicans how can you say that Grasley or Enzi are negotiating in good faith?

The Republicans along with Baucus and Conrad are playing Bingaman for a fool and its really sad he is aiding them in their effort to destroy Health Care reform.

Senator Bingaman has much to explain to the people of New Mexico - no wonder he's hiding during the August break.

Looks true to me -

They have abandoned this like repeal of DADT, repeal of DOMA and everything and anything else they promised that matters. The only thing that will save the Dems in the midterms is the fact that the Republicans are bat shit crazy.

Certainly anybody that now hopes for much out of the Oama Presidency is nuts. Its over because Obama is a coward and doesn't believe in anything and the Dems in the House and Senate or owned by whichever Corporate interests show up that have the most cash.

Folks - face it - this is over. Obama has blown it big time and the Republicans, the Insurance Companies and a few Demopubs (Bauccus & the Blue Dogs) have won. The best thing to do now it to drop the whole area of health care reform like a hot potato. That will give the Insurance Companies freedom to double rates in the next couple of years and that should knock another 20 to 30% of the populace off the rolls. Lots of nice folks will die but that's the way it is. That's what masses want and that's what they deserve.

Please! The HRC is doing what they always do - kiss up to power. They have long ago stopped caring about the LesBiGay Communities - this is about access. They can't/won't fight for *US* if it means pissing off the Obama power structure.

Don't you kind of wish, in a larger view, that you were alone though? I know I do. I'd rather be crazy than have a president that ignores the tragedy and injustice that has stricken his people.

Everyday, there is another group of people who are alienated and another motivation for a systematic social revolution in this country. Really if you look at what is happening objectively, and compare it to documented pre-revolutionary eras, things don't look as safe as we seem to think they are.

I really hope for the sake of the country, that the Democrats get their act together and do what needs to be done. Please democrats, take a few years and put public before party, and put that lot before corporations in your list of priorities. We've taken note of your more stern stance lately. We approve. Continue moving in that direction.

Is so sad and so true. Just read Dan's post and am left with the feeling that finally I'm not alone. I really sense the number of us that know we have been abandoned by Obama is growing rapidly. Personally I won't even watch him on TV anymore - he's just vaporware anyway - just a spineless coward that believes in nothing and won't fight for anything. His presidency is imploding and all I can do is wish he were gone.

Look this is just like healthcare, domestic partnerships and everything else - its over. Obama is a spinless disappointment. We made a mistake choosing and supporting him. Its pretty much all over for the next 3 years. My only hope is that he will have the good sense not to run again.
