Unfortunately, this is often just a band-aid for disgruntled tension. At the end of the day, no matter where you work or how valuable you may be, if your workplace is like this one, you are living an effed up life 24/7. You are in the wrong situation.

File your papers and get the hell out. Life is too short not to be valued at work and to be spending so much time in a barely tolerable situation.

Re: In The Wide Open Web Everyone’s Watching

nice post and observations. I believe if things could be stabilized a little, you would start to see money from smaller investors who want need to get better gains than they can from traditional markets.

We need to see innovation applied to the financing arm of tech which is just as creative as the tedch itself. Maybe investor pools/funds managed by reputable firms...difficult to find..but out there somewhere.

I'd put some moey behind a lot of companies if i thought i could get better returns.

Also, the new government is going to support labor law reform, but they don;t prefer larger companies over small, they will be passing legislation that will make it easier for a union to organize any company or employer, including small tech stuart-ups.

Re: Building your twitter network

I blog about business and human resources issues, and speak on the same topics.

Re: If you are laid off, here’s how to socially network

Basic resume tips here http://bestpracticeexchange.blogspot.com/2008/1...

Re: If you are laid off, here’s how to socially network

People can always check out dead pages with the "wayback machine" if they really want to.

Re: When Pirates Board a New Ship

Chris,

If you want all the pirates you can handle, you should check out Gasparilla in Tampa. Not everyone is as capable of sorting the flow of noise/information that you enjoy so much. I like the noise, although I am more swimming up a creek than the Niagra you are using.
