Thanks for the reply, even with me being such an ass. :)

But don't most (or at least a lot of) players now remove the challenge from the game by watching the videos (= why they work so well, revenue-wise)?

The reason why I was so disappointed in seeing this specific kind of ad in Disco Zoo was that while I would just about bear (haha) sitting through a 15-second video in order to get that last elusive animal, I would never, ever care for the kind of drivel that was being advertised, obliviously doing my part in making a system work for you and the advertisers that builds upon 99 people grudgingly enduring the very worst the AppStore has to offer and 1 person actually downloading gems like "High School Story" (?) or whatever.

I realize the AppStore is mostly a numbers game, and ads like these yield better numbers, but in the end I did uninstall Disco Zoo, feeling ever so slightly less motivated to buy further Nimblebits titles. Hard to put that into a number, but there you go.

For the record, I _loved_ Trainyard and wish there were more games like it on the AppStore.

Ads are bullshit. This article is bullshit. Stop punishing players who'd happily straight-out pay for your games.

Loving it overall -- however, two requests:

1) Livecards should have unique, permanent URLs (so I can bookmark/copy/etc. the URLs)
2) more importantly, the "My Livecard" button should link to my card's permalink. I can already see heaps of people passing on "their" livecards using the current /me URL.

Other than that, good stuff. Keep it up.

Hindsight is 20/20, indeed.

Other than that, there's nothing really wrong with having class-level configuration variables, _as long_ as they're just defaults for instance-specific configuration.

Either way, grats on shipping 2.0! I've been recommending Savon to all those poor souls having to deal with SOAP services, and it always ended up easing the pain a bit.

+1. Ich bin inzwischen dazu übergegangen, die Serien auf DVD/BR zu kaufen, um sie nach dem Schauen wieder zu verkaufen. Das ist ja das schlimmste an den 30-Euro-Staffeln auf iTunes, man darf sich das Geld nie wieder rein holen.

Das ist sicherlich eine Sache der persönlichen Präferenz. Ich persönlich finde es zum Beispiel ziemlich brutal, ständig an die lange Liste der Dinge erinnert zu werden, die ich noch tun muss (oder will). Mich interessiert eigentlich nur, was ich *heute* tun muss (oder kann). Daher ist mir so ein Feature sehr wichtig.

Für mich perfekt wäre ein Tool, was über das oben beschrieben hinaus noch automatisch Tasks verwerfen würde, die ich länger als, sagen wir mal, 4 Wochen nicht in meiner "Today"-Liste hatte. (Weil sie dann augenscheinlich nicht wichtig genug sind, dass ich sie überhaupt irgendwann erledige.)

Ich bin aktuell auf Things, aber eigentlich nur aus einem Grund: dass es sauber zwischen "Heute" und "Nicht heute" unterscheidet. Im Prinzip würde mir eine App, die *nur* das macht, auch reichen. Es gibt da sogar eine, deren Namen ich leider vergessen habe, aber die war irgendwie buggy und komisch.
