If Brad thinks anyone would believe that he was just there exercising he might even think he is a chance to get elected! He said on his very own facebook page (open to the public) that he would like to break the rules (as they were at the time he wrote it) to be involved with this protest!

I am not sure what is sadder that he thought it was alright to protest or that after getting a fine, he thought he could get off it by falsely claiming to be exercising!

How many councils our size have two 50m Olympic size swimming pools? Isn't it better to have one really good one where folks that need the length of that sort of pool can train and if the other aquatic center in the area is 25m, I am not sure the issue. Not sure how a shorter pool effects kids ability to learn to swim for safety. When one of my sons did lessons there, I can't remember him getting to the point where a 50m pool was needed. If money is no object, sure a two 50m pools is wonderful but in an environment when money must be shared around, is two 50m pools in one council area really needed?

Is funny that the same people that complain about the council making sure that fire regulations are followed are the exactly same people that would complain if a child was harmed or ajoined buildings were damaged becaues the council didn't enforce fire regulations!
Some people just like to blame the council for everything!

Oh and those suggesting that the council could fix the fire door issue would be the same people that complain about the coucil spending money on changing the door!

The undeniable truth is that the council can't please some people that just are in life to complain about what others do!

b) Not taking online petitions seems a wise move to me. There is no control over who signs them! At least if you have to visit folks in person there has to be some effort on the part of petition purposes!

Lets start off with, I will accept your apology in advance for your wrong comments and telling me I'm wrong, when you are the one that is wrong, and your wrong on the matters that are the easiest to prove you wrong on as the words were recorded and available for anyone to listen too!

A women, who I believe but could be wrong, sounded like your wife Helen said, and I quote (not a professional transcribe but this is extremely close):
"We're going to fight the velodrome that they have promised us. they have promised us in council meetings that they will build us another velodrome."

I believe Tim was there but that wasn't the source Lid used. To my knowledge, she had no information from Tim! As our local Council Rep, Patrick had talked to him and some of his posts may have referenced comments from him, but there were two other sources that Lidia and Patrick had information from one of them very close to the whole thing! While the numbers were wrong the basic facts were 100% on point! Police were called and you were moved on.

I am sickened by the group linking your activity on the day to kids with cancer! Notice I didn't say surprised as its right out of the Gaye Guest play book of smearing as much rubish around! Her linking of the issue to the "he Back Your Neighbour Campaign" campaign to smear the council is as big a disgrace and really leaves you wondering what morals the group has! To link the plight of refugees that, because of a terrible decision by the federal government in the way of funding, will do it hard and possibly struggle to feed themselves to the removal of a underutilised track is just horrible and you have to wonder about someone so selfish to use the misery of others to try to get their own way! You would think she would know better! For you to link this action on Monday to morning to kids with cancer is nearly as disgraceful!

And of course Michael told the contractors to DO THEIR JOB! Thats what they were their to do and thats what they have done over the last three days in a brilliant way! I am amazed everynight to walk around the oval and see how much more they have completed!

So as I started this comment, your appology will be accepted when you admit your mistake! The lady (who I am fairly sure is Helen) is clear to hear!

Someone has to translate council meetings for you guys! Wasn't it your wife on YarraBug show claiming that the council in a council meeting "promised to build you a Velodrome"?

On numbers, yes we got some exaggerated info but not from Tim. We should of know the number of police cars was wrong when the source told us there were like 30 protestors! I mean, imagine the number of cameras that would of had to be present to draw out 30 cyclists/supporters to Parkfield?

Oh and good old Boyd Fraser (did you realise he's related to Malcom Fraser you know!) claiming you were going to invoke the spirit of Gahdi! I always thought his protests were long and noble efforts. Yours seemed to be more in the Arthur Dent mold!

Good to see the Dandenong Cycling, oh I mean Star, Journal bought the whole charity ride story! If you guys don't make it as a cycling club, perhaps you could start a fictional writers guild! I mean, the idea you guys gave Chris of YarraBug that the contractors weren't coming for a month but when the council heard your giant contingent of protestors were at the track, they got contractors in at 6am! I mean, I know when ever I've tried to get contractors in, I wait to the absolute last munitue and then they come instantly! That's just how contractors work!

And you guys have the never to call us liars! Your lying or just complete lack of understanding of what is going on is what happens when you sit in a echo chamber drinking your own bath water!

Updates from Council meeting: Council hasn't formally been notified (according to the CEO) of the Kirby family wish to not have their father remembered at the new park (which is part of the master plan). Personally I hope they don't stop this remembering of Mr Kirby but in the end, they have every right to request it not happen.

Also should be noted at other meetings the council has noted that the investigation into a new velodrome/cycling venue is in the hands of cycling victoria. I hope the NPDCC are keeping CV honest and on track to get this report produced!

Another mistruth by you, what's new? I have always said that there are few track riders and that the rest of the users are going to be happier with the brand new, safe shared path!

Good to see that you have accepted that the track is used so little a country cemetery is a more used and loved riding path!

Wow! You really want to talk Strava data? Gutsy move! Because when you look into the Strava numbers (whether before the Master Plan was released and an abnormal/unsustainable small amount of riders turned up to support the call or after it) thing you find is that the track at Parkfield has had rider numbers that are between 10 times and over 100 times LESS than local velodromes around Melbourne!

Heck, if you look at the Strava numbers, there have been between 5 and 10 times less number of riders at Parkfield than ride around the Cemetery in my home town (a town of about 32k people). Now you might argue not everyone uses Strava, but a) why the hell mention it then. b) Surely the percentages of people that use strava to not using Strava would be fairly universal making the lack of use the same percentages! Of course, you might argue that the percentages for Parkfield are much less as serious riders don't ride there and then we would agree! And then you would be agreeing that the shared path (or more honestly, the serious riders will just return to the tracks that they would rather use like Packer Park in Carnegie but feel obligated to make it sort of half like the track at Parkfield is actually used).

Rate payers were listened too. The ones that went to the park and saw the signage and read the papers and participated in the consultation because they cared about the park, they are getting all the facilities that they want and that they need! Those that abandoned the park and didn't fight to have the track fixed, had no idea that their was consultation going on. You guys have proven the difference as now some have come back to the park, the signage and fencing was noticed straight away. The signage of the demolition is in exactly the places that the consultation notices were! If cyclists were still using the track in any meaningful way back at the start of 2018, they would of seen the signs and would of been involved!

Lastly, isn't it funny that the only ones that think the shared track won't be shared in a positive way is other cyclists? It shocks me that they are the ones that think other cyclists are assholes. In my experience, cyclists couldn't be more willing to share tracks safely. And lets face it, fast riders won't use the shared track. The handful of fast riders will go back to the tracks they used before the campaign began!

Seems to me that the councillors you spoke of did a brilliant job in the handling of Parkfield Reserve! They got their locals not only the Master Plan they consulted to build but have also got the funds to start the work of removing the unsafe track and replacing it with a much better, more usable track in the process!

Another case of one of the features of Parkfield Reserve that will be in much better condition after the work of the Master Plan than before it! It's so good that the Greater Dandenong council is so concerned about doing the right thing that they have an Arborist in staff meaning no need to get closely consulting done! Makes you feel proud to love in this great city! #NobleParkProud

Great news that the State government is not going to step in over the decision of the elected representatives of the people of Greater Dandenong! We can only hope that things get moving quickly and we can get the new, safe shared path ready for winter! It will be much better for the locals travelling across the path then having to walk over mud and slush to get from one side of the park to the other!

The consultation argument is so lame! Heck, in a copy of your very own paper on the same page as a story about one of the SNPV main spokespersons, Gaye Guest, there was a mention of the consultation (Page 28, Feb 12 2018 edition of your paper if you wish to do some real research)! And that is just one example of the many, many out reaches that council made. To be honest, if it started and ended with the fact there were signs all over the park about it, that should be enough for anyone actually using the park at all! But they didn't, they went much further!
I mean, what is the council meant do, arrest all locals and force them to listen to plans and contribute? The council can merely make it possible for feedback and the people that truly have skin in the game are going to respond!

So as I said on a long post on my facebook (which I can forward you if you are interested in my research into the consultation process), this myth is certainly busted!

PS. on the postcard delivery! Would 100% be okay with any resident locally saying they didn't remember getting it, as I am in that camp! I am a little skeptical at anyone that would swear black and blue that they DIDN'T receive it! There is so much junk in mailboxes these days, I don't know that most people could tell you what they got as postcards from organisations in the last week let alone last year!

Yes, I am sure it would be an awfully popular for Daniel Andrews to take away all the improvements coming to a local park in his electorate in favor of a group, whose members are mostly based outside his electorate!

I note Mr Fraser Said " haven’t been able to hold the council to account". Seems to me that elected officials are held to account at every election and if I were the Councillors of the Paperbark Ward, I'd be sleeping pretty easy when that time comes around!

By the way, didn't Maree Devenport run against Dan with supporting the cyclists being one of her views? How'd that work for her? #JustSaying
