He definitely has a bad rap here for not finishing, wrongly in my opinion. A lot (Cough, Robert Walls, Cough, Dwayne Russell) blame him for all the DNF where as I am 99% sure if you look back over the DNF list, a huge percentage of them would be due to mechanical failure, something he has little control over (to my understanding).

This year with a good car under him, he is showing he can compete with the best. Also, with wonder boy, Hamilton, in a crap car, it sort of proves that if you don't have a good car, you don't have a chance!

Hopefully he wins so us Webber supporters can stick it up the haters!

Nice work as you would expect from such a great operator. I am interested to know if you had pre-talked about how from a Web 2.0 point of view you guys would handle this sort of issue or if you made it up on the run?

What if its just a problem with Society in general and any group of men is a possible one for this sort of thing. I definitely wouldn't rule the AFL out as possibly being involved in this behavior.

Magic! Look forward to it. I will be honest with you, I haven't fully
converted over too it yet as I have Tweet Deck setup nicely, but I would
think when comments come to Facebook part of Seesmic Desktop, that would
probably be the motivation to move over. I haven't got into Friendfeed
myself yet, but is that in the long term plans for SD?

Is it just me or is the ability to add comments from the client not there? If it isn't, is it in the pipeline?
Also, an easier way to like something would be something I would like to see.

Hmm... I am no expert and haven't fully looked into this, isn't the physical infrastructure the important piece? Surely the speed will end up being what ever speed technology will allow over that physical infrastructure and that will change over the next 10 years, wouldn't you think?
Like the Cable will hit a high speed this year but its based on better tech not new Cables. Surely fiber speed will get quicker over the near term future.

Just a thought and could be completely wrong.

Not to stick the boots into poor Cam when he is down a little bit, but TPN was the first Commercial Podcast Network I believe. I believe there was a non-commercial Podcast Network before TPN (I want to say the godnetwork or something like that ). Just saying.

To be fair to the police, they are trying to make sure that this guy gets the justice that he deserves! If he is not sane, they want to make sure he is locked up for that. If he is sane, they want to make sure he goes to jail. If his lawyer can argue that he can't get a fair trail because of things that should be supressed not being supressed, they should be seeing what can be done about that. I bet you will be one of the first posting how incompetent they were if they didn't and the guy gets off because of the net!

b) Perhaps Compassion is the wrong word. From what I have heard it sounds like the guy has mental issues. Having dealt/been around people with mental issues lately, you have to wonder if (assuming it is true the guy has issues) it is 100% his fault or if we as a scoeity have to look at ourselves and say did we help him enough. Perhaps the answer is yes.
So, 1000% yes he should face the court and wear what ever punishment is coming him but is saying "I hope someone can burn his house down" helpful? No.
In fact if anything it justifies the courts idea of putting a supression order on the guys name. I mean are we as a public really helped by knowing it or does it just open up the media to this sort of crap and does it just put poor victims, maybe in a bad mental place themselves, in risk of doing something silly against this guy and/or his family.

You are 100% correct that this is a serious matter and that is why I personally don't see that it is a good thing that peoples Myspaces are being used to try and make a judgement on a guy that is obviously mentally troubled!

While we are at it, from his MySpace friend list he is friends with some guy called Tom. Everyone that is any sort of trouble and has a myspace seems to be friends with this guy Tom. Do you think the Police should contact Tom as it seems more then a coincidence that they are all friends with the same guy! Maybe you should write a story on this Tom guy and his links to bad people that do Bad things!

I think the Free upgrade to Vista is a good idea but Free for all isn't.
Even if Microsoft did this, I don't think I would upgrade off my Vista OS that I am quite happy with currently, thank you very much.
I don't think Windows is an upgrade type of OS. You should get the latest version when you buy a new machine, but to actually upgrade your current one, the OS is too mature to add anything that would make the upgrade worth while. Plus most of the upgrades are with Apps that you use with Windows and if Windows 7 is successful, it will mean more App developers will bite the bullet and write apps taking advantage of Vista/7 features which will be great for Vista as well!
