What would Sony get by buying Nikon and the F-mount? An enormous installed base of customers. Sony could create the mirrorless camera that Nikon should have built years ago.

Open the aperture all the way. Focus the lens to the rear element is all the way back. Then use a flashlight into the front element. Look all the way in around the base of the barrel.

The lens is great but I also have the noise. And it does seem to have scratches, which you can see when the lens is focused so the rear element is all the way back. Will return to B&H and repurchase when they work this problem out.

This camera and lens are a new experiment for Nikon. They have not yet learned to balance innovation and customer value against the risks of either cannibalization or losing mkt share due to lack of innovation. Not good.

This really does read like an Adobe press release. Objectivity and neutrality will go a long way toward preserving your reputation.

The bottom line is this approach is actually cloud-based licensing to increase consumer costs and control piracy. The software is not cloud, only the license verification is, plus the ability to download new versions if you are under a subscription.

Costs will go up for buyers, which is the bottom line.

The x200 will not ship until late this year at the earliest; more likely in the first quarter of 2013. In addition, Fuji will announce a lower-end camera, probably between the x10 and x100. They will not announce an X-Pro1 replacement at this coming Photokina.

Great post. I got a Xoom today so appreciate the advice about 3.2. It did a quick update, so that was was good. Now, I need to find an app to replace Goodreader from the iPad. Any ideas?

By the way, on my desktop this comments box did not show up, in both IE and FF. Works on the xoom though.
