If I haven't calmed down about it after that long, I doubt I will anytime soon. ESPN.com provides an awful user experience and as an ESPN Insider member gives me no option not to get bombarded by advertisements despite paying $5 a month. Seriously look at that homepage and tell me if you think that's a sports site or a Ford ad.

And nearly every other commenter here and elsewhere seems to agree.

Re: I will not be visiting ESPN.com ever again

It comes back santo, trust me.

Re: I will not be visiting ESPN.com ever again

Yeah, and I'd be willing to bet they make quite a bit of moola. ESPN has actually been previewing it for a while, it just went public today. I was hearing a lot of the same hatred of it from people previewing it, yet they didn't change it. When I can't look at a site and know if the content is the main part or the ad is, something is wrong.

Re: Roku’s second act: Amazon Video on Demand

Yeah, it's interesting how many of these boxes start to overlap. Sure. But the fact of the matter is that Apple now on public record has laid out the issue and said flat out that Jobs knows that if he can no longer serve as CEO he would step down -- and that his health issues will not require that.

While Goldman seems to have been mislead by his Apple sources (in saying that health was not a factor), Gizmodo's story is still worse that Jobs was on his death bed (unless he's writing from his death bed which you can't believe is the case here). Reporting on health issues obviously isn't the easiest thing in the world for any tech blog, especially with so little info. In these cases, speculation can be very dangerous. We're just laying out what's out there.

Re: Enough Chinatown Wars…

Man can not live by General Tso's Chicken alone...

Re: Cue the complaints: 17-inch MacBook Pro without a removable battery?

Yeah I suspect if the Silver-Zinc (or at least some kind of longer life battery) rumor is true that a lot of people will be torn. Some of these developers are making truly great apps, others are just trying to mooch off of the current fart buzz. This will pass, and I definitely wouldn't rule out the iPhone just because of this, check out my list of great apps: http://venturebeat.com/2008/12/24/my-ten-favori...

Re: Indecent proposal? iPhone fart apps continue down the gutter

Normally I 100% agree Tim, but Apple already has a mechanism for NC-17 content and I don't think anyone should be subjected to seeing pictures of a**holes (yes, even cartoon ones), if they don't want to. Most of these fart applications I have no problem with -- they're silly, but that's subjective -- but this one is a bit much in my opinion. Not saying apple should remove it, just put up a warning of some kind.
