Have always thought about best practices around groups of people to stay in touch with. Contactually is also pretty awesome.

Re: 12 Questions To Ask Your Future Employer

I think these are great questions for the smaller companies/startups (as Sarah mentioned in a recent comment). For the people that are working on hiring the right people rather than being told they need to straight up fill a position quickly and get back to the grind. And when I think about 99u, I think about individuals/companies trying to build a smart culture and do great things. So I think these are pretty appropriate in the right context as you feel things out during the interview. Perfect for some opportunities I'm entertaining - thanks Sarah!

Re: My Crazy Productivity Secrets

*sparkly eyes* thanks Amber. Not only because of knowing you for the past few years but also capturing very close, the things I've been working on myself. I might need to print this out. So proud of you and glad you took the time to write this. It seals everything into reality. Let's do it.

Re: Going Off the Grid at SxSW

<endless laughter="">

I'm a people person and that's one of the reasons I enjoyed SXSW last year. I got to meet up with people in person that I truly had friendships with and have a good time. One instance stood out to me on the very first day I arrived at the Convention Center. I came to a table where a young lady was sitting at her laptop. I couldn't find an open outlet to charge my own computer and she kindly showed me her own portable charging station. At that point we exchanged names, she said I had a French name, she was from France and we talked about tech, culture and good food. It kind of set the tone for me for the next few days.

The connections/networking aspect is a very fun part of it for me. However, after reading Wisdom 2.0, I'm hoping to adopt more of the "listen/observe" aspect rather than constantly looking at my phone to see who is tweeting me. Otherwise you don't learn anything and you spent an ish-load of money for nothing.

On top of that, I'm gonna be checking out film stuff a bit more this time which will hopefully give me a little reprieve from some of the interactive distractions.

Re: Strategy Lessons: The Ground Book

This is fantastic Geoff!! How can an actually company measure influence on Twitter? Once again it's a shoddy attempt at quantifying social media based on numbers and/or popularity. I'm surprised the Klout engine has gone this far to be even blogged about.

Re: Health as urban design.

I was working on the definition of public health 2.0 but you beat me to it Jay :) Great article as usual too.

As for Skibumef's comment - you're absolutely right. It will indeed take a big, diverse team of people to accomplish this re-envisioning of public/community health. What I mainly see Public Health 2.0 is (along with Jay's description here) is looking beyond what we think of as healthy and look at what is constantly part of our daily lives, motivating us and influencing what we do.

Re: Take initiative, trust your gut, and create revolutions in your work

Make it happen, Amber.

Re: Beyond Groups: Why Curated Membership Communities Are Today’s Most Important Networks

Fantastically worded Nathaniel and I wholeheartedly agree. It's kind of how I think of myself right now. I'm all about making change and doing good in the world through public health, but I feel that the traditional public health world is broken right now and it's not as effective as it once was. Which is why I'm thinking up "outside the box" ideas on how to make an impact on the public's health and yes <gasp> they might even be for-profit ideas. This is something that rang true when I was honored to chat with Robert Egger last year. He believes in the same thing. Kudos on all your achievements and keep up the great work!

Re: What ARE Influencers Good For?

It surprised me how much chatter was going on about this service since when I first checked it out late last year, it just seemed like a public Q&A service - sort of like LinkedIn. I didn't see anything ingenious about or new for that matter. Then certain people started talking about it over Twitter and all of a sudden it became the source of blog posts and in depth analysis (as well as ridicule).

I've just come to the conclusion that I'd rather be doing things that matter - whether offline or online - than be someone sprinkled onto a product to make it magical.
