No - right clicking makes much more sense.

Right click approach:
See something you want changed on your desktop? Right click the actual thing you want changed.

Mini-me approach:
See something you want changed on your desktop? Open a second mini desktop version that looks the same but really only exposes formatting options. Find what you want to change, then figure out which kind of click you have to use to change it. Make the change, and watch your "real" desktop reflect the changes in the mini version.

So confusing to new users to add a completely unnecessary layer between the changes and their "real" desktop.

Agreed. You're right - many of these graphs only show a subset of the data (and probably only those that support a certain view). Tough to summarize an extremely complicated thing (our economy) with simple charts :)

I hookup directly from the computer for the living room TV, but for televisions that are more remote (i.e. bedroom/basement/etc) it's nice to have a wireless box like the roku to hook into.
