I emphatically agree! In fact, I almost feel let down, or a promise has been broken. I thought this presidency was going to be innovative, efficient, and modern.

I appreciate them updating the site right noon and all, but when it comes down to it, there's got to be more than just YouTube channel and collection ghost bloggers.

I think you are right about both points. Definitely #1, but I think your thoughts on #2 have more merit. I think you are right. Paid apps won't be going away, but free (full featured) trials will be necessary. Such is the case with just about any software sales. You must give people value before asking them to pay.

Thanks for your comments about Appulous. I am buying apps at about the same rate, 1/10 might be worth purchasing after I've tried them.

But where does this leave apps like Koi pond, where you pay for the novelty? Once you've seen the app, you aren't likely to pay for it.

I'd like to see the ability to try apps for free move out of the 'black market' and into the mainstream.

I hope I didn't insinuate it was an easy process to cross pollinate your network. But I believe it is worth the effort.

I don't think you need to add people to 55 other networks. Just one more network that makes the most sense. For example, if you are real friend of mine on Twitter, I generally reach out to you on Facebook. If you are a business colleague of mine on Twitter, I will reach out on LinkedIn. I pick the most appropriate social network and reach out from there.

I also think it makes a lot of sense to periodically back up these databases because we should never be completely dependent on one service. Hopefully the open social / facebook connect movement makes it much easier to do so.

I agree. Craigslist isn't going to react to the letter because it isn't in their best interest. Sadly, this letter will won't effectively alter either position.

It is going to take a unique service interested in bringing both parties together to help bridge the gap between Craigslist and newspaper classifieds. I can't wait to see if iList turns out to be that service!

* Listing alerts
* Saved searches
* Category specific filters

I agree with you with exception to #4; the traction.

I believe a start up can be newsworthy without traction, just look at Powerset.
