This is why I prefer reading the posts that review things 4-5 months down the road. I wrote a iPad mini review 2-3 months after launch and I called the screen crap. I took heat for it. Honestly believed it at the time. Fast forward another 3-4 month and I would now say it's not that big of a deal.

I never would have never arrived at those thoughts in a couple days or even a week.

Same thing happened with the iPhone 5. I told everyone the camera was great out of the gate, but then 3-4 months later I was going through photos of my daughter (idiotically relying on my phone as a primary camera during that period), and realized a good 3/4 of them were out of focus and useless once I printed them.

Frankly, I don't even bother reading reviews until a month or two after a product is released these days.

Same usage, but mine gets warm. I wouldn't say it gets "hot" like my MacBook Pro that almost burns my testicles off on a summer day, but mine certainly heats up.

Seriously? There's more than one definition of delayed. It's based on perspective. Here's the best description I can find: "To cause to be later or slower than expected or desired" (http://mcgsm.co/zRliSO)
To me, the title is delayed. To the company it may not be. I don't buy the "sour apple journalist" definition of a delay. I had an expectation, based on assumptions possibly, but nonetheless... for me, there are delays. It's not here when I expected it to be, so from my perspective... there are delays, regardless of a public date announcement.

Well said. I pretty much assume that any app looking to pair me up with other people I know is looking through my contacts at the very least. I would have easily hit the share button too.

iCloud sync is something I actually look for in all the apps I purchase now. I think you raise a good point. It's pretty much a necessity at this point.

I think it's the "try it" first approach that really sucks in consumers. If you think about it IAPs can fill the void left behind by no trials on the App Store.

Very well stated. I think that's increasingly true for this and future generations more than any generation that came before us... It also makes me wonder a little bit about the unemployment rate and if it's a giant chicken and egg scenario. What came first? Jobs disappearing overseas or the lack of employee interest in having those jobs.
