Very little chance to beg the world for votes - but, beg I must!

I'm number 6! People, if you haven't voted yet - pretty please with eighty-eight cherries on top - VOTE FOR NUMBER 6!

:)

Re: Wheels on the Bus Go ‘Round and ‘Round

This is a really great post. Your description of rapid cycling is entirely familiar to me, as that is the reality in which I also live. And I think it's a good way to describe it so that others can understand, too.

I enjoyed learning about Van Gogh, as well. I had thought he mailed his ear to a girlfriend, and I didn't know about his hospitalization or the painting (which I love) being painted while there. Knowing that and looking at that painting, I can so relate to him. How weird. And very cool, too. I think I might get a print of it now - now that I know more of the story behind it and how closely it rings true for me.

Re: Bowling with the nephews

Adorable, they're completely adorable!! When I wonder if something I'm about to share is over that line, I have to listen to my gut. My gut always tells me what to do. I sometimes don't listen to it and forge on ahead, probably most likely when I'm hyped up and excited about something. And then I often wish I'd stopped myself. But for me, there is no one real description of that line - it is mostly decided upon on a case by case basis. Sure, there are some things I definitely *won't* talk about, but, usually it comes down to listening to my gut.

There are so many people online oversharing - 'grown adults' - telling intimate details about their lives, people that you would otherwise deem intelligent and level-headed. When I come across these 'shares', it makes me so uncomfortable.

I think it doesn't have anything at all to do with authenticity, because, there are parts of my life that are private. Take my relationship with my brother, for an example - is my relationship with him authentic? Of course it is. I love him very much and we are very close. There are certain parts of my life that should not be discussed with him, though, you know? And that's an example of a very close and strong relationship.

Let's say we're talking about my presence on the web as a businesswoman who sells personalized letters to children. My relationship with the mothers, fathers, etc. who purchase the packages. Am I authentic with them? Of course. Do I tell them about the amazing "experience" I had last night? No. But that in no way diminishes my authenticity with them.

Mostly, it's a personal thing - each person is as comfortable sharing as much as they want. And each person must decide where their 'line' is. Some people are fine with 'spilling it all'. That's totally not my bag.

It kind of all leads into another discussion - the one about 'are your online friends "real" friends'? My husband and I have very different viewpoints on this. And neither one of us wants to budge. I can tell you, for sure, (and I'm not really even that close to you, friendship-wise) that I had tears in my eyes the instant I saw your tweet and my stomach jumped up into my throat and I was worried all night and waited for every update tweet you shared with us.

I guess I should stop 'blogging on your blog'. LOL Both very interesting, interconnected topics, though! I think I'll go see what that cool professor, that is embracing this new medium and blending it into his classroom, has to say about it. I can't remember his name - will have to let you know.

Re: How old is your Twitter Account?

I balked and balked - and resisted as long as I possibly could!
