Apparently I bought the wrong profiling target, but I refuse to spend more money on this. In the end I believe (now, not when I bought the light meter!) that it does not really make any difference if you profile your camera or not. I'm still very happy with the light meter by itself, without profiling.

Guys, as you might know there is a copyright on Murex-documentation, therefore it's not allowed to distribute any documentation authored by Murex. Keep that in mind please.

I usually set the black/white point and crop. Sometimes I do minor curve adjustments. When doing pseudo-HDR I create several JPGs out of one RAW file and continue processing in Photomatix.

Hi Michael, actually I was suprised too, that “the professionals” spend more time on this than I did. However, this is because of different techniques being used. Even though I didn’t blur the image, my approach did loose some detail in the skin. If one does it properly, just like Matt did, this indeed just takes more time. @All, If anybody is interested I could post the original RAW file and you could submit your versions if you like. Please let me know.

PS: I’m not a big fan of SEO postings or sales rethoric in my blog.

You are right; I've started adding the 100% views (zoomify), but will need to upload Matt's version again as the current uploads of his version are in the wrong colorspace; I'll also add the Plug-In Samples tonight.

there are no Murex tutorials, but you can press F1 for a (by now very good) online-help or join MTEK for trainings.

Well ... of course one could think of situations were even the above might work, but the business-side of my blog is focussed on the financial services industry and these scripts are usually implemented in areas, where it is criticial for the client that they work 100% reliable at all times. I have no problem at all with someone who does not know how to write a script (well) and am more than happy to help, but after some research on that person's side I would have expected an "oops, sorry, I was wrong and fixed it now" rather than saying that everybody else is wrong. It's that kind of attitude I am troubled with.

I've rented it again and like it more and more :) Together with the Nikkor 200-400/f4 it's a really cool combination :) The idea with the Katzeye was a waste of money, it does show the 5:4 marks, but it's not the same and requires post processing, while the D3x pictures only require very minor tweaks in capture one.

Update 20090614: The same problem occured again, by now I switched to Apple and am not sure if I will have it repaired again or not. For sure that was my last HP notebook I ever bought.

I had looked at Topaz when I was still thinking if I should buy LucisArt or not (heavy pricetag). Personally I didn't like it too much, but maybe I just didn't spend enough time learning how to use it. However, I'm glad I picked LucisArt in the end ...

I would like to reword the original review; it is not useless. Actually if you are out in the wild it is working ok. However, I find that the GPS receiver is much worse than the one in my iPhone, i.e. the iPhone knew quite exactly where I've been while the camera only had a correct position in 20% of the tries. What I really dislike is the extra cable. Nikon should have found a way to transmit data betweenn the flash shoe and the camera without requireing another cable. Bottom line: it's ok but I would not buy it again.
