This site has become so slow to load. I check in every day but with the absence of news there is nothing to comment on. I'm waiting for mid July, when hopefully the Portuguese prosecutor will have something to announce - fingers crossed!

I found your comment about Gerry - a man who has never lost control , very interesting. Why have we never witnessed any rage from him when he mentions the 'Predator' ? My husband ( normally very mild mannered ) would not be able to contain himself when speaking about someone so vile. I also know that he would vow to break every bone in his body or worse and would be willing to serve time for it. Perhaps Gerry does that in private. If he did it publicly, wouldn't we all understand and have empathy? How have they managed to be so 'dignified' ? " They are not the bloody royal family ", as my mother put it.

What a laod of old tosh! Fancy a 3 year old being able to ask Mummy, " Why didn't you come to us when we were crying in the night ?" and to say it in a sensitive way so as not to make it sound as though she was remonstrating with her parents. Please?!
Someone may well have been crying the night of the 2nd in apt 5 a but there is no doubt in my mind - there was no ticking off at breakfast the next day.

You sound on top form to me. Welcome back.
I do some work with youths in custody . One mother said she couldn't come to the police station for her 15 year old son's interview ( for burglary ) because she was going to see Take That in concert. A social worker had to act as 'Appropriate Adult' in her place.
These stories bring out the Victor Meldrew in my husband too, especially when he gets his tax bill. comes.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant that there are 2 photos of her riding a bicycle - wearing the same dress, which is below the knee so you can't tell whether they are socks or tights. I didn't see long white socks in any other pictures.
In any event, Stanley is right, if abducted as JT described then she had barefeet. If she died in the apartment ( as I believe ) then who knows what she was wearing!

I was about to point out that no fashion conscious mum , nowadays, dresses her little girl in those knee high white socks unless they are compulsory, ie part of school uniform. They are so not a good look, particularly with summer clothes on holiday. Just to be sure I checked some photos of Madeleine on the McCann Files - sorry can't do links. There are 2 pictures of her riding a bicyle. She's either wearing long white socks or tights. Now I'm not so sure.

Have you had chance to read Nige / Redsquare's mccann files yet ? Pretty comprehensive - no ?
No wonder Clarrie et al are a bit cross. I wish he'd put us straight on the bits he considers to be misinformation.
Anyone else care to comment ? If you haven't already then www.mccannfiles is definitely worth a visit.

We are all still waiting with baited breath for the arrival of the rogatory letters. We question the Portuguese, the Home Office, ivestigative journos etc. Let's keep our eye on the ball and direct our collective energies towards "encouraging" Team McCann to return to Portugal of their own volition.
Come on Clarence, we all know this is the quickest and easiest way for the McCanns to be ruled out and the search for Madeleine to continue.

Hi all. I'm a long time lurker. Glad to see all you stalwarts still here. nbrado on 3 A's was very reassuring earlier about the longevity of the forum. I've just returned from my Spanish evening class to find it's gone AWOL, mind you (can you tell I'm Welsh?) I'm so slow at typing it might be back now. Surely it can't go the way of the MF.
