You run it on your SharePoint server and you do not need parameters. The script will enumerate all web applications and fix it.

After I found this issue/workaround, we opened a ticket with Microsoft to confirm. They essentially gave us the same workaround.

I reviewed the code and it is a pretty simple check. I'm not sure there will be any issues with upgrades in the future. I personally cannot think of one.

This would be solved by having a start up app. You could make "TV" your startup app -- first thing that runs when you turn it on.

In reviewing the way the First Run Experience and "Get the most out of SharePoint" dialog works, there is no consideration or checking for Yammer integration. The these components are essentially looking for a few things. Does the user have a profile? If they do, do they have an existing My Site (from a previous upgrade)? Is the FirstRunExperience value less than 15? I do not see any checks for Yammer.

John, To the best of my knowledge Microsoft has not publicly acknowledge this issue via a KB or TechNet article. This was this a support ticket through my premier agreement.

You may want to refer to this article. Obviously everything is now 15 instead of 12. http://paulliebrand.com/200...

I just tested this in my environment and it totally worked. If you do not have the 15.0/Common/Portal registry key setup with a PersonalSiteURL defined then Office 2013 will not get any of the published links.

What exactly is happening? I finally got around to testing it this morning and everything appeared to be functioning the way it should. My machine I am testing on is not a fresh install so it could be that some of the old components (i.e. Office 2010) are "helping" it work.

Explain exactly what is happening to you and I might be able to offer some insight.

Don't hold your breath... This problem has existed from the very first version and still exists in 2013. To effectively move documents with history, etc. you need to use something like ControlPoint from Axceler.

Aaron,
I haven't had a chance to look into this personally. I am assuming you have attempting to change the 12 to 14 in the registry keys?
If I get a chance I'll try get something setup to test myself and see if I can figure out how it works or has changed in Office 2013.

Paul,

You more than likely have to edit your docicon.xml file. Most of my SharePoint deployments have that modification made because people want to see the PDF icon. I'll see if I can track down a SharePoint environment that does not have it set and verify if that is required. If you have a local SharePoint deployment, it would take you 5 minutes to make the change and then see if it resolves your issue.

Unfortunately, I do not know of a way of triggering besides through the registry. I completely agree with you that this the wrong way to do it but it is what it is.

Make sure you are adjusting the sliders on the "Underlying Layer" in "Blend If". If you use the "This Layer" sliders you will not see any change.
