I'm more familiar with Mos Def's acting career than hip hop career so this has been fun listening to him again since his debut album which I had when it first came out. I saw all his Broadway and Off Broadway shows. (I saw him in Suzan Lori Parks -F*cking A & Top Dog/Underdog) He's a fantastic LIVE performer. I'm so proud of him! Do you have a favorite song?

Re: Your Baby is on Flickr

So true! Thank you for the tips. I stopped tagging my photos after I saw all this go down.

I was unaware of using the Statistics to see if my photos are being used elsewhere. I have fortunately been approached and asked to use some photos and I am thankful for that.

But, I have been uploading my pictures to Snapfish and I only share with my family who I know will only share with family members. But then again I know those pictures can be shared too. The real gems I don't share!!!

Thanks, Dave! xoxo

Re: Amel Larrieux

Amel is performing at B. B. King's on April 30th in New York City. Please come! I am not to sure if I can go but go!! I saw her at the Blue Note in August 2008. I think I have seen Amel now about 5 times. She amazes me every time I see her. http://www.bbkingblues.com/schedule/moreinfo.cg...

Like you, I am excited for her next project. "Glitches" is my ultimate jam by her and I have never heard her perform it live. Maybe she needs to collaborate with the Roots on an entire album so they can tour together? That would be fly.

If Amel did more duets I would love to hear one with Maxwell! Also, I would love for her to consider doing a duet with the opera singer Jessye Norman. Another person who I would love to hear her sing with is Luna Sans of E.S. Posthumus. Luna's voice reminds me of Amel's voice. I would love for the two of them to do a collaboration with E.S. Posthumus. My ultimate dream would be for her to do a duet with Prince and also one with Michael Jackson. I could go on and on who I would love for her to sing with but she can sing with any artist and bring another dimension to that artist's work.

On a side note, I would love for Stuart Cottonbelly Matthewman to produce an entire album for her. See here: http://www.cottonbelly.com He is the producer who works with Sade and he worked with maxwell and amel larrieux in the past on his first studio album, Sweetback. Ahh.

Thank you for sharing with me, Nirav. You honestly made my year with seeing your review. : D

Re: Why I Did Not Attend the Inauguration...And Have No Regrets

We love our are parents. It meant m ore for me to be with them than with friends who don't understand all the historical lessons my parents taught me. Knowing my mother was denied to use the same bathroom as a white person just blew my mind. Knowing my mother was told the highest level she could reach in her profession was to be a teacher or a social worker was enough to keep that rage in her to defy the odds and become the second black woman to pass the Florida Bar exam which allowed her to practice law in the state (1965). My father had his issues too being a black man from the midwest who only had a few hopes until he met my mother who pushed him into another orbit of thinking outside of the box which allowed him to work with President Nixon as one of the few blacks with the Small Business Administration. To every person in the USA, who was told they could not do something because of their race, religious background, gender or whatever this inauguration meant something to them. I have hope for a better tomorrow! xoxo

Re: What Shaq, MC Hammer and Tim Ferris Can Teach Us About Social CRM

Working on that case study! Plenty of juicy tid bits! xxo 8) It really is a step into how some us think too. You would be surprised of the things some people say. I must add I have added to the insanity and voyeurism. [the tweets I say are usually the 1st thing that comes to my mind and I always have 1 individual who wants to chat chat with me. It's wild!]

Makes you wonder is this a new way of expressing ourselves in words? Will this allow a new trend in expression. Twitter/myspace mood talk?! Or really it shows you how all of us are so needy for attention. That really has been the end result for me. I've seen it all 2 years almost working within both programs. It can be completely addictive.

Makes you wonder? You know how on the IM how we do LOL, smiley faces, etc. I see something else that I don't everyone else sees. It is wild to me.

Re: Something is moving on Twitter

Totally agree and I think it cheapens the effect of what you may be trying to convey to whomever. Now, if you are a professional entertainer who wants to add some magic then maybe but otherwise naah. It would be interesting to see if any of these musicians who are on twitter would consider using the animated gif. Example - MC Hammer [He is on twitter here = http://twitter.com/mchammer]!!

If he had an animated gif of him doing the running man I would DIE laughing but then that is an old image of him. But, you never know.

Something to think about. I don't know. The more I think about the animated gif I think of all the visual artists that I follow? Hmm..possibly? But then again like you I don't want all that flash on my twitter stream especially with me following over 1000 people!

Be good! oxoox

Re: Hi, thanks for following me on Twitter…

Oh LAWD..don't get me started on that. You know I don't own an iPhone nor a blackberry. When I am AWAY from my COMPUTER I don't want to be bothered.

I want to act like I don't have to have a nervous twitch every time my phone may buzz for email. However, although I have a FIRST model Razor phone, I swear I had to sign up for the text message package because sooo many people text me and I was getting charged for stuff I did not want.

I asked them, PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME TEXT MESSAGES. I don't have a keypad like a blackberry and I am not going to respond.

NONE of my "friends" LISTENED to my plea and they continued to send me texts and FORWARDS to this day.

Should I charge them the monthly fee for this junk they send me? Then, with Barack Obama, he was about to BLOW UP my cell phone with stuff but then I realized I accidentally signed up for all this junk to be sent to my phone so I unsubscribed from all those lists.

I swear it's hard managing all this junk in the 21st century. **sighing** and **eye balls rolling!**

Thanks, Dave, for you are one of the few who understands this. I swear I want to be FREE from the distractions when I leave my little home office or office.

May I walk down the street and not see someone walk into poles and into pot holes because they are texting? I don't want to look like that fool! : /

Re: Welcome Back, Blogger...

Preach..throughout this process I have met some very unstable individuals who have lashed out their dislike of themselves onto me. To get back, I throw humor on them and they cannot take it. So, I have learned to pray for the poor bastards and move on. My brain cells cannot be corrupted by some fuddy duddy! Keep it going my friend! I appreciate you enjoying my voyage into the world with me for I have to find the humor in all that we experience in life. Thanks for your kind words too. You just made me chuckle. Sarah Palin will continue to be unfolded to us through different individuals who are privy to information that the mainstream media will not either tap into or is not aware about or does not care to follow up on. This is the power of how blogging will open your eyes to another dimension of an individual.

I re-watched the clip and was mesmerized. Bryant is so calm and cool in his delivery that I am completely convinced that all that he shared in his 7:00 minutes on youtube.

I appreciate you tapping my shoulder and asking have I heard this. I now want to jump on over to Baltimore and go to his church. I actually am Pastor Bryant's friend on myspace here => http://www.myspace.com/pastorjamalbryant

I am still shocked as to what he said. I wonder if mainstream media will explore this facts even more? I'm with you on this point.
A friend of mine was diagnosed with throat cancer and given 6 months to
live. Both his wife and he flew to India to be treated by an Ayurvedic
medicine specialist and was healed. Local doctors were amazed.

I've shared with Sarah in the past to put me on the first flight to India if
I get diagnosed with cancer.

Thanks Lynn.
