i had a thought along these lines a moment ago - late on a saturday while arguing about work:

A smart man can win any argument; a genius can get her desired outcome out of any argument.

That is....pressing a point of view, supporting with evidence & ultimately 'winning' is moot. Genius lies in the ability to get the desired outcome squared away. It's hitting the target that can't be seen - changing the argument, reframing the conversation, or just "being wrong" in a way that achieves a specific action.

Because 'being right' isn't necessarily the most important thing. Efficacy is.

My experience was completely to opposite - Sue found the books focused too tightly on all the horrible things that could go wrong. She didn't want to know about the 0.2% of the population that gets _insert random horrible defect here_.

So, i read everything. If i were to boil all those books down... there'd only be those few tips. Eat well. Sleep lots. Exercise a little. Don't stress - let the doctor tell you when it's time to worry; otherwise, assume things are going fine!

The missing sock is typical. As is the arched back and the peering around the back of me. She loves that one-arm-kung-fu-grip - she feels secure and has an absolute party.

i'll happily wait for 2.7's security holes - whatever they may be - to be exposed and patched before upgrading. until 2.71. is out imagine me standing behind my blog dancing from foot to foot like Homer Simpson with a full bladder.

yes, 'the day after tomorrow' is also awful. Frankly i'd rather fellate a hot curling iron than watch that movie again.

on a happier note, i've decided that in the category "best christmas movie ever" the indisputable winner is "Scrooged". Bill Murray pre-psychosis. Brilliant.

Wanted was visually fun and lord knows i like explosions, monsters, exploding monsters and angelina jolie mostly naked. Wanted scores high in all of those categories.

It just left me with a feeling of despair... as if i'd just been told that i have to hope and wait for someone to see into the real me and to hand me my true life?!?!? Too bad i can't just sack-up and make something of myself, myself!

Ask Dee for a recco to her chiro. I had issues with a calf muscle which he tracked back through my back to my running gait. A couple massages on the leg, some rest and of course a couple kicks in the spine and a change of my gait... and i was fixed quick and haven't had issue since.
