Aardman have done pretty well. ;)

I was student in Bristol 25 years ago. Since then had spent 12 years in London. Back here again now for the past few years. Much healthier than London and you get more for the money you pay for the roof over your head. Simple as that.

The people are great and it has easily one of the best live music scenes in the country.

Hi, Thanks for all your work with these demos. Excellent work!

But when I try this demo, after clicking 'Stop', nothing happens ..

The console shows the error : "Uncaught TypeError: Failed to execute 'readAsArrayBuffer' on 'FileReader': The argument is not a Blob."

Any ideas?

I totally agree.

To me, it's a bit like a mobile phone only showing the dialling code of an incoming caller.

This 'simplification' of things are dumbing down the experience and knowledge that new users need to understand. URLs are important.

Not all people Google a site every time they want to go to it. (Though I know many do.)

Chrome (desktop) has also started forcing this "fake" Google homepage into a new tab, "calling home" every time. Also breaking the back button, since this fake page is always item 0 in the history stack.

I've been a big fan of Chrome for a long time. It's a joy to develop for (I've been building web stuff since about 93). But recently the stuff Google are doing in Chrome is making me want to go back to Firefox.

Any links to more info about the Mobile Safari top/bottom bar changes?

Mobile Safari since iOS7 has to be the most annoying 'update' ever for mobile web devs. As well as those annoying bars, using the swipe action to go back and forward MUST go! (Or at least be overridden).

Just as people were getting used to using and adding side menus to their mobile web apps, Apple goes and kills them all with this invasive gesture detection.

Android added it once, then after all the dev kerfuffles, wisely removed it.

Why is this article written in the past tense?

Surely Twitter *is raising* - not *has raised* - $1.82m

Also "Twitter yesterday sold 70 million shares at $26 each" ? - They don't even start selling until today. They only *priced* them yesterday.

Or have I totally misunderstood something here?

Looking forward to seeing the spec and price of the new 'plastic' / cheaper iPhones. I think they want to flood the market with them and get iOS into people's hands which could only currently afford an Android smartphone.

wow.. just read through that whole month of Scripting News, May 2005. What a trip down memory lane. Seems like eons ago. I'm now downloading my old podbat blog from my old server. (lost the domain long ago).

But the odd thing is, I've been recently experimenting and building an iOS app which lets people append new short audio recordings to a previously recorded one. (I have one which does video too - think 'MixBit', but not by the founders of YouTube :P )

Still diggin'! :)
