I'd argue kanji study usually involves multiple things - radicals (for some), kanji, and vocabulary. You can interleave those!

I think you still need those epiphany moments to be natural and on your own - you can get some of that out of people telling you connections, but until you do it yourself it's going to be hard to acquire it (versus "learning" it).

rikaikun is a little bit too easy, i think. That being said, anything that you use to look up a word doesn't help you to learn the thing you're looking up. So no matter what you use to look up a word, you have to do something with it. Put it in an SRS. Break down the kanji. etc. There has to be a process here otherwise you'll surely be looking up that word next time too.

I think it's pretty similar to the one in Yokohama, though i haven't been.

As for books in English, I don't remember. I also don't remember there being a gift shop, but my memory may be faulty on that one.

It's not so much that. I've also backed ~30 campaigns, and love kickstarter. It's just we get a ton of emails from people who are starting campaigns on kickstarter/indiegogo who clearly have no business doing so, or are people who have no prior experience doing these things. So, as a company we generally stick to the rule that we cover projects that are funded / have done what they sent out to do, but avoid posting up or writing about projects that are still in their funding cycle. That's all I meant by it, I agree pretty much everything with you.

For EtoEto, or something else? I'm thinking EtoEto will be around double the price of TextFugu, when all is said and done. Probably will be discounts for beta period like WaniKani, but that's around what we're thinking for the end goal, I think. (very well could change though, which is why we haven't posted final prices for it)
