Empowering commenters seems to be as good a thing as empowering site owners was and I can't wait to try it out.

Re: You are SO unfollowed!

I am with Cheeky_geek on this. Good design is not about leaving everything optional and up to the user but to make the right choices for users so they do not have to. So if one feels the need to follow all their followers simply to make them feel good (because it is not practical to really follow thousands of people) I think Twitter is totally right to take measures to stop that.

This is just like the 5000 friends cap on facebook were some very vocal user made a lot of noise. There the answer was not to up the limit but to change the paradigm by introducing fan pages to the mix.

Re: trip to california

Boah...

Re: Angie´s big skip to Canada - cherry blossom

Hah.. we got spring too: http://www.flickr.com/photo...

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/04/lets-stop-speaking-like-machines-and.html

I would consider the @ in twitter superior to any kind of interface solution trying to achieve the same. It is like a shorthand for something that would be very clumsy to put in natural language. Making functionality part of the language and as such easy to parse is not a a bad thing. Neither is it automatically good - but here it really works.

Also worth noting are clever things like the new gmail search (via the lab) that suggest rather clever search strings based on your clumsy human attempts to control the beast.

And as for hashtags - twitter search is now so powerful that most things that warrant a # work just fine without.

All in due time :)

Re: Angie´s big skip to Canada - janet won a coffee break for all her coworkers at...

What the ...???
