Lance Stemler can not be Token....he actually plays. Token must be given to the walk ons. Besides, havent any of you seen Lance out at the bars? Last year I saw him at Sports at least 3 times with baggy jeans, a XXXXL hoodie and sunglasses....real smooth. Huge shot he hit though. Amazing how that can change the way you feel about a guy. Another good one for Aahfield is Fan Boy. And my all time favorite nicknames go to Ryan Tapak and Mark Johnson....they will always be known as the "Mini-Hornsbys". All they can do is shoot threes but they just arent as good as Kyle.

A.J. should have lost Mr. Basketball to James Hardy. Fact. That was a clear case of Indianapolis bias that us Fort Wayners cry about constantly, but in this case is very true. As for the question that was asked I think it is a direct result of missing the first half of the season that is causing his decline. He was never going to be a baller on this team but he was expected to come in and play good defense and knock down 2-3 threes a game. *sidenote: By the way that is all he CAN do and I am sick of people on this team trying to do things they CANT do. Back to A.J....He missed all those games and then when he is ready to come back he gets hurt and for all we know he probably still is bothered by that ankle. I am hoping and predicting that he slowly shapes back into form and by the end of the season he finds his role on this team as being the 2nd guard off the bench for defensive and 3 point shooting purposes only. Sidenote #2: He really needs to find his shot because that is probably what is effecting his playing time the most.

I'm still standing by it...in High School at least. For the record Ratliff's senior year 19 ppg, 5.7 reb, 3.2 assists....rivals #77.......Hardy 27.3 ppg, 9.8 reb...rivals #80. So judging by that year which is all that matters for Mr. Basketball you see where I'm coming from though. Aj Graves was actually second and Hardy 3rd which is even more interesting.

I actually liked Mike Whites physical play at the beginning of the UCONN game but then he started taking shots. I think the 4 man needs to understand his role more than anything. When Mike White is in to guard bigger, physical players he needs to do just that. He comes up with big boards on occasion and his strength on defense can sometimes overcome the fact that he is not a great basketball player. On the offensive end he needs to only set screens and go for offensive rebounds. We should never throw him the ball in the post, ever. Lance should get the bulk of the minutes unless the other teams 4 man is huge. He is a smart enough player to understand what he can and cant do and the last few games he has been the least 4 man to make me agitated. Deandre Thomas, wow, I can not believe that he attempted a turn around jumper in that UCONN game and was not immediately taken out of the game. I just dont think he can play against most teams. He seems to hurt us more than help us and I think that brings me back to what Big A is saying. We dont need a whole lot from this position. The only time any of these players should attempt to score is when they have a wide open lay up or Lance has a wide open trey. And I mean wide open. Mike White going up for a contested shot is almost comical. So if these three can understand their purpose on this team and not do things they cant do than I think we can survive. However, the 4 position is without a doubt the main reason why we arent a top 5 team. Even though he was a relatively small 3-4, I miss Vaden more than ever this year.

I can remind you of the zero national championships your school has. Or I could bring up games in which we crushed you like you previously brought up. (my favorites are the two games in '02 where we hit a combined 37 3's against you.) I can even bring up how you choked with your best team ever in '05. But I wont. You'll probably respond with "oh that was all in the past, what counts is this year." Well funny you mention it because the present IS all that matters and currently your team is 10-13 overall, 2-8 in the big ten. HAHAHA I seriously cant remember the last time the hoosiers had that kind of a record. Keep the comments coming though, we think its hilarious.

An interesting point from the outsider. I dont believe we have ever brought up the fact that maybe our somewhat weaker schedule hasn't allowed us to mature the way we are capable of. After playing some tougher games maybe we will start to gel into the team we all know we are capable of being. It is hard to continually play weak teams and then play two tough teams like UCONN and Wisconsin back to back. I feel we will be a better team after these next 5 games and that is all that really matters. If we are up pto the challenge then maybe we can win the Big Ten, if not we will be stronger come March Your insight is welcome here Illini Visitor, but if your pal Bill shows up again.....

So without Ebanks were looking at a starting 5 of Armon, Jordan, Ellis, Thomas and Holman....with McGee, Pritchard, Taber and Roth on the bench....so how is losing him not going to hurt us? You have me confused. This is assuming that no one transfers from IU as well.
Rumors are also telling me that if Calipari was offered IU's job he would take it in a second. Then we would keep Ebanks and maybe Tyreke Evans, interesting....
