Based on another article I read, the design was inspired to come up with the design after the paris hilton debacle...so I do not think that the design is aiming at Luxury but instead some of the excess of our society and some of the the obsessions of the media which ended doing more coverage of Paris Hilton than the Darfour Genocide.

Though case for LVMH but interesting way to raise people's awareness about the fact that Paris Hilton gets much more attention than the genocide of the Darfour.

Two things:
1) you call it honesty, I call it integrity.
2) interesting and thought provoking posts, in-depth analysis/insight (compared to blogs - even the larger ones - which focus on "breaking the news", "gossips" and "conflicts" ).

I think that you are doing well on both fronts..so it is mostly about continuing to do what you do.

Daniel Ha is definitely a super responsive/nice person. He really cares and it shows and my experience is that he is like that with everyone (and not only the influencers like Louis).

I agree with that. Some can for sponsorship match making service would definitely be interesting. I think that creative commons is only trying to see how they can reduce the transaction cost overhead of content sharing/syndication so I think that it is worth keeping that conversation alive.

It would be great if the next version of RSS and ATOM could go further and not only point to the comment feed but define a standard set of interactions for adding comments.

Looking forward to following your exploration. I think that it would be good to keep the "open web" (HTML 5 + Gears + Firefox|Webkit) alternative in the radar too.The open web is much more organic and adaptive and if darwin is right, it has best best chance to cross the finish line first, way ahead silverlight and air (despite the amount of money Microsoft and Adobe are pouring in!)

+1. 1&2 should be encapsulated in their API. They should have a way to return a comment structure given a post url. They should also have an API to let the client know if for a given RSS feed id or website url, if that site is disqus powered.

This is indeed very nicely done. I have one question: I look at the API and it was not clear to me how given a blog post URL, an application could get the list of posts. The API talks about forum id, message id, etc.. Is there an endpoint in the API which given a post URL (example: http://www.loiclemeur.com/france/2008/04/plus-d... ) would return me a JSON representation of the list of comments posted for that entry? (or alternatively, the URL of the iframe we could embed)

:-) Did I mention no BS in one of my previous posts? I think that the power of blogs is their ability to be laser focused and the high level of competition which is constantly pushing the authors to better content. Creating an empire would go against those two aspects. What is really missing is finding a way to reward people link you who put time in writing great content...no need for a middleman.

Is it really about racism or it is about discrimination? The problem is that we tend to believe that we leave in a zero sum game: if we invest in improving the health care system and health system of under privileged people, then this must be a lost for people whose tax are being increased.

What is really interesting about Barack Obama is that he can inspire people and help them shift their perception.

Hi Paul, Great article: it is true that the ease of use of FF commenting system and the friend context lowers the barrier to contribution and makes friendfeed more social and friendly. What would be nice would be an option for the source of the discussions to track back those discussions so that they can be seen from the source (= I would be very interested in understanding how many discussions this post sparked and be able to scan through them both to understand the different point of views and meet with new people to subscribe too).
